Troubled North Melbourne star Tarryn Thomas has lost an endorsement deal with Nike as his future hangs in the balance amid allegations of inappropriate conduct towards women.
Thomas, 23, has been stood down by the Kangaroos after failing to meet requirements in a respectful treatment of women program.
That came on the back of a series of allegations that he sent problematic messages to women.
Taken as a top-10 draft pick in 2018, Thomas had been on an upward career trajectory in 2021, averaging 18 disposals, more than a goal a game and polling five Brownlow Medal votes, earning the backing of the footwear giant.

But Nike, the world’s biggest sports shoe manufacturer, has dropped Thomas from its list of endorsed sportspeople.
A company spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday that Thomas was no longer a Nike athlete. The financial terms of Thomas’ former deal are unclear, however industry sources indicated these sorts of arrangements are generally worth thousands of dollars.
A reference to Nike remained in Thomas’ Instagram handle on Wednesday.

Thomas earlier this week sought an adjournment for a separate charge of threatening to distribute an intimate image.
The case is set to return to the Broadmeadows Magistrate Court on July 18.
“We reiterate the strong stance that North Melbourne takes towards respectful behaviour towards women,” North chief Jennifer Watt said last week.
“We are still committed to supporting Tarryn however it is clear he must show further progress before he can return to play matches for North Melbourne.”
Good, the more hits he gets the quicker he might wake up to himself.
