The hate for Tarryn is ridiculous. IF he leaves, you can hate him when he is tearing us a new a-hole.
So you're fine with all the club resources and energy that we've wasted on him, when it could have been better directed towards the blokes who aren't dicks, give a shit about their careers, and actually want to be at the club?

how about all the other pre-seasons before this, starting with last year?
I just don't buy into the notion that his teammates not talking up his preseason efforts as a sign that they won't miss him.

I think that part is more of a reflection of his effort to present as a professional that he's previously not presented himself for preseason in a condition worthy of praise.

AFL always uses media to its advantage especially when hiding bad news. Instead of front page news Tarryn will be on pg15.
I know nothing about the basis of the new allegations, but...

If the desired optics are "here is the AFL taking an assertive stand against DV", is that something they really want to hide on page 15?

My thinking is that they would want to get the scandal part out of the way with the minimum of fuss, while in the long run enjoying the kudos for taking a stand.

If he was ever going to be able to turn it around. You’d surely think that the last year of his massive contract he’d put his head down and tear it up so that he can kick back on a big money 5 year deal from us or someone else. the fact he can’t get his off field stuff right even with that carrot dangling says something surely.

No doubt he will do somewhere else and have a great year, but can’t see him ever being a great teammate or
Clubmen where’ve he goes and having more than a flash in the pan season, based on what’s he’s done so far. Just doesn’t want it enough.

Sure. But if they're announcing something in the vicinity of a 10+ week ban, they know there will be significant media/public interest, and a penalty of that size will require a reasonably fulsome explanation, even if certain details are redacted to protect the alleged victim.

I would have thought getting it "out of the way with the minimum of fuss" would still require someone from the AFL giving a press conference on it, and then someone from North giving some quotes that reflect on how its been a little unsettling for the playing group but now its full steam ahead to the business end of the preseason, etc.

No way that doesn't make the 6pm news or the back page of the Hun, Tay Tay or no Tay Tay.

Without being there, I would say there's possibly a connection between the two.

No one has said its new. This is allegedly an old matter that pre dates his behavioural programs.

He's clearly a ******* grub. Hopefully de-registered for two years and we can move on. Most likely blown the majority of his earnings already, whatever's left the lawyer's will have.
A grub for doing what exactly?

Where is innocent until proven guilty around here?

Based on the rumours, this presents as a case that will undoubtedly be unsatisfactory to different people regardless of outcome.

I hope that TT can truthfully demonstrate that he has been rehabilitated and that the past behaviours are behind him. I hope he can be a part of a North Melbourne dynasty. But if it is better for the club to cut him loose then I will support that decision as I am confident that it would only happen if the decision makers were convinced it is better for all concerned.

If it’s an old matter that he didn’t disclose when going through everything last year and was meant to come clean on everything he’s ****ed.

Reluctantly I agree with this. Fortunately for us though we still have plenty of other superstars emerging from the untapped goldmine that is the Tasmanian NGA Academy.

If it is an old matter, and if whatever he's alleged to have done involved text messages, the police had his phone and they would have gone right through it looking for something else to charge him with.

The reality is, old or new, whether he divulged it to the club or not, and whether this matter has ever been referred to the police... we don't know.

Who says he didn’t? Everyone is assuming shit without evidence, which is really piss poor form

No we don't know.
Maybe it wasn't on his phone but through other messaging, could have used a different phone. My point was to refute that because it's old doesn't mean it doesn't matter and also that if it is old and wasn't disclosed at the time when TT had every chance to disclose any past indiscretions as part of his respectful behavior program the he's ****ed.

I didn't say he didn't. I said if he didn't disclose an old matter and this is what the current issue is then he's ****ed.
You seem to be saying that if it's an old issue it doesn't matter.
