Justin McInerney
Sydney Swans youngster Justin McInerney is lightning-quick, an endurance machine and a clean user of the footy who’s best used on a wing or at half-back. The Northern Knights product was called up for his AFL debut against Melbourne at the SCG in Round 4, 2019, and although he wouldn’t feature at the top level again in his first year at the club, he was a stand-out in the NEAFL. McInerney is eyeing more opportunities at senior level in 2020.

Justin McInerney
DOB: 18 August 2000
DEBUT: 2019
DRAFT: #44, 2018 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Banyule (Vic)/Marcellin College (Vic)/Northern U18

I honestly have my doubts about that. Clocked him walking away from the VFL game and his knee was strapped up like he was an escapee from the Mummy.

And even if he does get back, I'm not sure we're going to get much out of him.

Could be wrong. Hope I am.

Leftover tape from Buddy no doubt

Indeed, and so would I KC.

Little faith. This is the same club and coach that played Sam Reid in a GF.
Agreed.
In the past, I have defended the decision to play Reid in the GF even though it was clear to everyone from the minute he ran onto the field that he wasn't right, but we really had no one else that could do what he could do at the time. I always thought that the moment he got injured in the '22 prelim, was the moment the wheels fell off. As good as Jussie is, we have plenty of players that can cover for him so I'd like to think they won't make the same mistake again.
Let's all hope the two extra weeks have helped Jussie get back to 100% fitness.

I dont think anyone "didn't want him". The consensus was that at his best, or even close to his best, he's a critical part of the team and one of our most damaging players.

For me personally. The way he was moving in the QF concerned me because he was well off his best. So I'll put my hand up as someone who doubted his fitness. In saying that, I'm stoked that he's back to his best and was better for the run against GWS.

With everything going on, Remiss of me not to comment on his GF performance.

Looked injured again, zero run, absolute stinker, zero impact. Another horse GF special.

Looked fit the week prior to be fair
