Yes absolutely but after losing three GFs it’s time for another flag. Worse GF win/loss ratio than Collingwood.
After many years at South 1 was unbelievable 12 was a bonus , can co[p a couple more , but this competition is so tough . Then you go back to the baby bombers of 20 , they said they will win so many !

Unfortunately for Heeney, he has no profile with the Umps as a forward with his highest Brownlow score, being 8 and a total of 46.

Last year, Gulden got more than half of Heeneys total in one year with 27.

The more you are around stoppages, the more you are seen by umpires.

Gulden is around stoppages but also will be in the back pocket and soon on the other side forward flank.

Can't say I agree. It doesn't take much for the hype to kick off and Heeney is very noticeable out on the field. After the media hype of Opening Round and Round 1, the Umps would have noticed him. Using this logic Gulden would have barely polled last year, but from about midway through the year when everyone took notice of him, he started polling well.

Daicos and Bont both situated well for the Brownlow.

I don't get the Bont hype. Outside of maybe 3-4 out of the box games, he's had an incredibly poor year.

Yeah, I don't disagree, but he gets votes, few people steal them and the usual outlets/coaches votes are going his way again.

Heeney by his incredible standards he set earlier in the year has slightly dropped off the past few weeks while Gulden and Warner have improved not to mention Rowbottom.

It will depend how much of a lead Heeney has.

Things I have learned reading this thread.

Apparently Sam Wicks played GWS. All by himself. He won. But because he didn't win by 100 he was shit and basically ho hum we are only 13 1 or whatever. And pretty much everyone should replace him.

Also, this Lloyd fellow, who has held the backline together for years, won b&f's was the fastest swans to 100 games or whatever and has played 200 plus, can actually play. Good to know and what a relief.

Also, and this is moot since we are never losing again, I have the biggest bag of 🍿 ready to go if the umps manage to manufacture a win against us. I eagerly await the reaction.

Please enjoy it.

We were so good against a really good side who have agency in the result as well.

Made some GIFs. Wish I'd done them for others rather than the wet weather one but alas. Maybe down the road I'll go back and find some of the best bits from other various games.

I'll begin with Gulden's pick-up and perfectly weighted (and curved) kick to Warner.

Speaking of perfect kicks, once in a while Jake Lloyd gets the ball about 45-50m out, has a shot at goal, and it's always just the most beautiful kick you will ever see. Goal umpires simply don't need to move a muscle for his kicks.

BEEP...BEEP...BEEP... Rowbottom coming through!

BEEP...BEEP...BEEP... Blakey coming through!

(I know those two guys live together. Maybe they left a lasagna in the oven and were in a hurry to get the game finished and get home.)

Death, taxes, and Dane Rampe doing something completely batshit and inadvisable and it somehow being effective.

And while we're on unorthodox plays, McLean always makes me chuckle. He's this big, awkward, lumbering bloke, then every now and then he's like, "And for my next trick..."

giphy.gif

Just a great bit of hardness and repeat effort from Gulden.

giphy.gif

And one can't discuss effort without mentioning Rowbottom. The King! deserves the credit for pointing this out, but Rowbottom's effort to put the jets on and close the space here is mighty.

Do you know how long I have wanted to see handball chains out of the centre like this? DO YOU?

And finally... I'm not crying. YOU'RE CRYING!

(Mills is giving Obi Wan Kenobi vibes there)

Yeah after the game Hogan looked quite petulant.
However the majority of the rest of the GWS players seem to get on well with the swans
I didn’t see the Hogan snub. I watched the immediate aftermath and decided the “rivalry” between the two sides is completely blown up for the sake of the media because the players from both sides seemed like they were all mates who spend plenty of time hanging out together.
