To clarify, the mic was to provide a behind the scenes feel, not to capture Dermott's words after interview.

The mic was pinned to Boomer's shirt, not hidden.

The audio at the end did not portray Dermott in a bad light.

Cheers, Rob.
Dermott usually does a great job of painting himself in a bad light anyway.

Its pretty funny because i think every North Supporter wants boomer to be selfish..... he is the best ball user in the game.... Derm is a moron

Everytime.....

Boomer get the ball in the back pocket and run the length of the field.

Do it at a home game.

For the other 17 blokes on the field clear his path and let it happen.

Dermott was one of the most selfish footballers on a football field. Incredibly egotistical and more often than not he put himself first before the team.

I highly doubt he ever got close to have as many goal assists than what our Boomer has had. The bloke is a self absorbed moron, the footy world would be so much better without his "wise words" on TV every week.

My thoughts on the Dirtbag Dermie are that I would like Boomer to ask him three questions. 1. How many games have you played?.....2. How many Clubs did you play all those games with?. 3. Why did you leave Hawthorn?..And we know the answer to all three...but the whole issue of being selfish is pinpointed in answer #3 being Dimwit wanted more money than what he was worth...a little selfish me thinks...considering Boomer has showed loyalty to one cash strapped club is whole career ....now who is really selfish Dickwad Dermit. Aka Captain Flog.

Of course Boomer is selfish. Goes back a long way. I remember back in the final round of '98 when he kicked the winning goal against the Dogs - OMG what a hog, he could of handballed or kicked it out of bounds trying to pass it or something.

I mean, come on, he's been gifted 378 games when we could have been playing 'the kids'. He's like the fifth most selfish player of all time.

And he's been a ball hog, I mean, come on, it's just selfish to get 26-7 disposals a game - especially when you're in your mid 30s. You're not supposed to do that at such an age. Oh and don't get me started about that really selfish game when he had like 10 touches in a quarter against Freo - he could at least shared the ball with Crowley so he wouldn't feel like such a gimp. And the worst part is that he almost never makes the wrong decision with ball in hand - instead of never!

Delist.

Best post I've seen on this discussion, love it

Is it true, Boomer was a fashionably late for this interview, and kept dermie waiting for half an hour or more ? if so, kudos to Boomer, well played again champ :thumbsu:

I haven't watched the interview yet but I heard Brereton talking about the Boomer interview on the radio and he said that Boomer was late because they were doing the 20 minute lights out thing that they do before games.

I had a ring side view of that interview. Derm arrived to the spot where all of the camera and audio guys were about 15 minutes before the interview happened, having just walked over the centre of the ground to get there. I'm always open minded that people might be better in person than you imagine them to be. But far out he comes across like a knob jockey. Pranced around with his chest puffed out and flicking his daft looking hair all over the place, talking non-stop and trying to be all buddy buddy with the Foxtel crew who all clearly thought he was a tosser. Unfortunately, exactly as I imagined he would be.

as much as you'd like Boomer to let rip at slimey Germie - he is an absolute professional and his response made the bottle of peroxide look and sound even more like the flog he is - biggest gap of class between people on display right there - when the great man retires in 2029 Dermott might get the chance to see what the behaviours of a respected media performer look like.

I see him out all the time... never shuts up... i generally like to send a loud needle in his direction and watch him fluster..... total w***er....

Fox Footy just had a segment talking about Brownlow chances, naming Harvey alongside Pendlebury and Kennedy. I don't think it'll happen but if it did, I'd be the happiest man alive.

It would totally put him up there with the 'greats' of the game.
We all know it, but outside of the club people sort of have the view of yeah, he's a champion, but what has he or North actually achieved since 99?

Fine if some people don't rate the award itself but I think if anyone out there, who hasn't won it already, is deserving of such a high profile reward it's our main man Brent Harvey.

I would be delighted, although I think probably only top five at best unless he snares two or three BOG's in these next five games.

It will be won with a much lower total this year though with Ablett's early departure. I actually still think Gaz will go close.

This site (http://www.phantombrownlowmedal.com.au/phantom-brownlow-standings) still has him at 13th, unfortunately. :(
