It's still an uphill battle for the bloke but anyone who doesn't wish the very best for him is an arse.

And that's exactly what pisses me off the most. A few people on here who actively root for players they dislike to fail.

Grinds my gears.

Thanks all good thankfully no chronic fatigue. Was good as gold after a month.

Opened my eyes to how seriously shit glandular fever can be.

Took my 10 year old daughter 8 months to get back to her normal self last year after catching glandular. A sporty kid, she missed out on playing her usual 2 games a week of netball and basketball, and could only do a full week at school in term 4 (she developed first symptoms in February). Before she got it, I too had no idea what Glandular can do. We’re hoping this year she can get back to the same level with her sport.

I also met someone on a flight during the year who said she has consistently throughout her life had to battle with fatigue as a result of getting glandular as a teenager. Making you think that Will’s progress may have been legitimately slowed by glandular.

Oh I have absolutely no doubt there are one or two people who post on here regularly who would much prefer to be right than to win a few games. It's sad and frankly neurotic but it's the way they choose to be.

I also don't think anyone is doing "I told you so" just yet. All that I'm reading here is a sense of encouragement with perhaps a little relief and hope based around the clear indications that Will has returned in ripping nick and has taken on board the directive to get in the gym and build size and strength. Everyone is aware that he is in a contract year and is fighting for his career. It's still an uphill battle for the bloke but anyone who doesn't wish the very best for him is an arse.
Not saying you might not be right, but someone who has been on a NMFC forum for near on 20 years is probably not interested in being right more than having a decent team to support.

You can absolutely believe what you want, but to me this doesn't strike me as one of those instances.

Any one who dedicates as much time and effort into North is ok by me. We aren't easy to support, I would have probably stopped if I hadn't seen two flags live by the time I was 17. The young fans that we do possess have my absolute respect. The old ones who are just hanging around for one more (like my Dad) - I get it.

The key message is we need everyone. We can't exactly be picky - with that in mind, let's NGA and play the Indian kid for hearts and minds/bums on seats and atmosphere at games alone. They can bring their food trucks as well, I'd give the $20 Chicken Makhani in a Garlic Naan a ****ing work over, at half time on a freezing cold Sunday at the dome.

Well yeah, and I know I shouldn't make light of mental illness but anyone who does actively "root" for the failure of a player, knowing that it is almost certainly against their own interests as a North Melbourne supporter, is kind of ****ed in the head.

AFL players can seem larger than life so much so that people forget they’re just kids plucked out of high school and dropped on a national stage WHILE navigating the occasional difficulties of being a young man

I’m wrapt for Will and really excited to see how he goes this year. The way he has prepared himself is nothing short of inspiring and sets a fantastic example for the whole playing list. There’s no denying how bad he wants it. If he can play to his strengths and combine that fitness with his natural talent… phwoah, kid could be the next Sam Mitchell

Yeah true but more importantly, anything to change the topic from "Will Phillips appears to be having a strong pre-season" because that would be anathema to old Captain Bringdown.
Righto Mr Presumptuous. The Silly One is on the money. Casting that rod was all that post was. If truth be told I like Will Phillips. Have had the pleasure of speaking to him on a number of occasions. Great Guy. I hope he has a monster season for the Mighty NMFC. As for you. You know me and should know better. How I continue to confuse and bamboozle bananas like you after all these years is amusing. :stern look

Are you required to signal a loud beeping sound when you back the truck up like that? You've dumped enough shitposts on Will along with several others on the list. You don't get to pretend they don't exist.
