If it's based on something said by people at the club then I'm disgusted that they are peddling this **** and ought to be out of a job. That's nothing against Scoobs, he posts what he hears.

But imagine if at any other workplace, within a few months of an 18 year old kid starting, there was one section of management running around telling people that they didn't want him, they wanted someone else and it's not their fault if he turns out to be pretty ordinary? Way to make him feel welcome.

It's just not on.

You could also frame this as a staff member letting it slip that there were differing opinions before the group arrived at a decision. Somebody has taken that skerrick of information and built a mountain out of a molehill.

Here's a suggestion for Scooby. Next time some disenchanted and disenfranchised former big wheel at the cracker factory passes on some gossip designed to undermine the confidence of an 18 year old recruit in order to pay back some ancient inner sanctum vendetta, maybe think twice about being the stooge who posts it.
