The fact that our midfield has to truly step up to win this one means this weekend is our last game of the season. An AA ruck up against our rabble of a ruck will be our downfall.

Heart says Eagles by 10 in a spirited display away from home. Head says Port by 28, with us kicking the last few to make the scoreline respectable. We did finish 8th and scrape through to the finals, after all, and statistically Port have had our measure both times this year. We need Port to be wasteful to be a chance.

I've come up with a set play that will take us all the way to premiers before it catches on.
The play is for Kennedy to position himself near the behind post, lecras positions himself on the edge of the goal square, the team is instructed to always kick the ball from around 50 to the middle of the square, lecras new role is when the pack forms to simply crouch down into a little ball providing the perfect stool for Kennedy to leap into the side of the pack off of. If he happens to drop the mark lecras is already bent over for the crumb. With a bit of practice they'd be unstoppable.:p

"We'll take two emergencies and you'll find out who after 4.00pm." Simpson stays quiet on team selection

"Sharrod has been playing well at WAFL and has put himself in the frame. He's experienced, has flexibility." Simpson on @SharrodW_12

"We know we're massive underdogs, but once the ball is bounced in a final that all goes out the window." Simpson

"That's one benefit of traveling to Adelaide, we get to have a captain's run on the ground we're playing at." Simpson

"We're both playing for the same thing, there's plenty of pressure on both sides." Simpson

"Jake looked good, but he has been crook since we named him - which is unfortunate. A lot of our first year players have been unlucky." AS

"For us to get a victory, it's going to take something pretty special." Simpson.

"A week off helps those guys, but t helps every team in the league." Simpson

"Our challenge is to spread the load, because Kennedy has such a huge presence - but we can't rely on him." Simpson

"See you guys at the airport."

Well if we lose at least we will probably get to watch a showdown final the next week.

I don't think Port getting smashed again would make for a good spectacle, on all fronts.

It wouldn't be a good finals game or alleviate the rage of WC supporters.

Really hamming up the underdog status. Good call.
