When you are McKenize anything is possible!
Punter hasn't made a team pay for dropping him in a long while. Seems to keep getting out in the 50s.

Gee how do you drop something like that.
Height of the ball probably caused some hesitation. Had his fingers facing down when it was generally high for doing that but it was in that area where your not sure how to take it. But still, he should have taken it. Reaction time of .70 is plenty of time to take a catch.

Actually, they tend to be pretty accurate.

Hopes was always going to play, absolute no-brainer. Cricinfo were completely guessing the lineup 2 days out, they wrongly thought we'd drop him.

I still think we should have replaced Clarke with Hauritz. Hopes at #7, Harris #8's still ok for batting. Hopes then becomes the 5th bowler which is fine.

Test wise it's usually a big 100 he makes when someone drops him.
Anyway he sure is pushing his luck here, hes giving the fielding side a sniff with some of his shots.
He is trying to up the RR I feel.

SA catching certainly has dropped since the 2nd Test. If they actually took those chances they could dominated the summer even more.

I guess SA are happy chasing 300+
Can't believe how many chances Ponting is giving lately even if hes given a chance he still seems to give another. At his peak he wouldn't give another chance.

Well done to Shaun Marsh.

I criticised his selection as i felt selecting a player who hadn't been performing at lower levels was sending a bad message, but to his credit he's managed to turn it around and put together two quality innings in a row.

I don't know if the Australian coaches worked with him, but his footwork is far better since coming back into the team.
All season he's been stuck in a 'nothing' position, not coming forward or going back, but since this series started, he's moving his feet much more and seems really decisive when committing himself to play either forward or back.

Well done to the kid, shows some decent character to be able to put the horrible domestic season behind you, work on your flaws and score some runs at the next level.

Ripper batting here by Punter and Marsh. Really smart, not many silly shots, looking for the gaps. Looking at 300+ at the moment, if one of these guys can convert to a 100 and keep wickets in hand for the last 5-10.
