The commentators are now saying the Mark Cameron would be watched by selectors....after being out for a year....has one match (albeit does very well)...

jeezzz

Taken more wickets than Siddle this year!:thumbsu:

saw this piece of gold in the cricinfo commentary

"Mitchell Johnson needs two more tattoos: "line" on one hand and "length" on the other. Maybe GD McGrath can do the work; it'd be precise."

one of the best

How can the selectors justify dropping Doherty? He was the only bloke who could buy a wicket last game and surprise surprise 14 overs in Sri Lanka are none down and cruising along at just under 5 an over.

What are they thinking? Are they giving Johnson and Hauritz game time regardless of form just for the Ashes? What is the point of putting up a worse line up than the one that got embarrassed in Melbourne?

My disillusionment with the management of cricket in Australia grows every second

Looking good so far, the selectors would be absolutely shitting themselves at the moment, it's gone from bad to worse, SL looking at a score over 300 if the rain doesn't come.

Throw the ball to Doherty, he'll get a wicket, oops, he's sitting in the stands.:mad:

The commentators said they wanted 'leadership'. A win would be better.

That better be a joke.

We've got Ponting back, he provides more leadership than anybody else in the side (Huss used to, but even he's flakey now).

Siddle and Hauritz, if we have them in frame for the Tests, should be playing Domestic 4 Day Cricket, not friggen ODIs.

Was Hauritz aiming to achieve something bowling two legside wides in a row? It isn't as if the batsman are advancing down the track or anything.

he's playing for the exact same reason Siddle is - to get match time into him. Come the England ODers Doherty will be playing more games than Hauritz. Hell come Brisbane Doherty will be back in regardless of Hauritz's performance. Hauritz playing here would have been planned before the series.

It's shit yeah but they doing what they planned to do.

That planning is a whole lot of what is wrong with aussie cricket. To into plans about who is going to play what role instead of just picking the best 11 players.

I am almost hoping we lose the Ashes 5-0. Changes need to be made at the very top of Cricket Australia.

I posted below the other day and with the excpetion of bllodstainedangel5 the few people who commented on it didn't seem to think much of it

I am a relative newcomer to the game of cricket and admittedly have very limited knowledge of its intricacies. Below is a quote from the online version of a national newspaper

"But the importance of the Sri Lanka series is trifling compared to the Ashes."

It is in an article relating to Mike Hussey's best preparation for Ashes. What bothers me about it is the disrespect that is being shown by the Aussies to the Sri Lankan and before that the Indian teams. As I recall some players were sent home early fronm the India tour apparently to help them prepare better for the Ashes. During the 20-20 match against the Sri Lankans the commentators said at least once that the Aussie team wasn't its best (ie that some players were deliberately left out - presumably to let them prepare better for the Ashes). Just think of the ways this is a slight to the other teams, the paying public and the notion of the best representing the country.

Any views?

i seem to have more supporters now!

So the pie Chuckers(Siddle and Johnston) and Hauritz are playing to get ashes form, so where is the Hilf!!! he is going to play the Ashes so shouldnt he be out there:rolleyes:. Im happy that Clint McKay is playing, but disgusted with their continued playing of Siddle, and especially Johnston and the dropping of our best bowler last game.

hypocritical idiots the selectors and board. Go Sri Lanka batters, hope they thrash a massive score against our "best" bowling attack.
