Bit concerning the lack of exposed form for our alternate hbfs. Toss of the coin really given how little we’ve seen of them.
I’m not a fan of bringing Hind in, I think he’s low production and the intensity will be through the roof. I think we will roll with Savage as his last game wasn’t bad enough to deserve being dropped. Would love to see Jimmy but seriously worried he hasn’t played in so long same for Robbo.

All Wheatley said was that there are too many puzzle pieces missing.

Not sure how you can argue against that.

They got smashed in the ruck, they need another one to go with English.

Saints took the most contested marks all year. They clearly need another key back.

And the fact that 5 of their 9 goals cake from free kicks shows they don't have enough fire power up forward.
Yeah it's not even controversial what Whateley was saying. Libba clearly thinks that both Bevo is a gun and that the list is great/balanced across the field. I get how fans can think one of those things to be the case and convince themselves that either the coach or the list is holding the team back. I don't get how they can think both are great. If the coach is great and the list is brilliant then why aren't they a top four team? I don't like to rip into fans as everyone has some nuffie supporters, but the dogs do seem to have a particular delusion about them, seemingly stemming from 2016.

King - Balta
Marsh - Grimes
Membrey - Astbury
Geary - Vlastuin/Houli
Butler - Baker/Short
Lonie - Baker/short
Kent - Vlastuin

Howard - Lynch
Wilkie/Battle - Riewoldt
Wilkie/Paton - Martin
Long or Savage/Coff/Clark - Aarts/Castagna/Rioli/Bolton

these are the matchups we want. Reckon we can handle them well enough with this

I'd go with Battle forward on Grimes. Has shown he can play that role on Haynes and more likely to have an impact forward than Marsh.

Battle - Grimes
Marsh - Riewoldt
Howard - Lynch
Wilkie - Martin

ratts seemed to be hinting at a debut? mentioned making a name for yourself in finals using dermie and pickett as examples. left field selection?
I think he was more alluding to the fact that whoever comes in will have very little exposed form for the year.

Pretty much everyone likely has debuted already, unless Clav plays but I just don't see it.

DMac seems to be right at the very end of the pecking order. A fascinating case study in how different coaches value some players extremely differently.
from memory he also didn't train last week along with Battle and Gresham. So perhaps he's injured anyway

So people’s sources saying he hasn’t trained at all and our coach and other club officials are saying he’s training well and a massive chance.

Someone’s telling porky pies
Could be talking about Roberton or Jimmy debuting for the season
They dont really talk about players debuting for the season

I am excited for selection night Thursday. This is intriguing how it will play out.

Outs Ryder, Carlilse and Long
Ins if Battle gets up, big bonus. Still think we would bring in Marsh.
Savage, Hind or Webster to cover Longs spot.

If Battle gets up, I would prefer him to play forward and wing. Play Marsh on JRoo and roll the dice on Jimmy.

Clav could be a smokey to replace Carlilse especially if Battle doesn't get up. Be amazing if he came in and played a great 1st game.

Otherwise Marsh to JRoo, Howard to Lynch, Wilkie to Dusty, Paton to Castagna, Coff to Caddy. Clark rotating in from midfield.

I know Parker hasn't been in great form, but I think in this scenario that Battle doesnt get up and we don't want to play Clav allowing Marsh to play forward, we need an extra player to give a contest in the air in the forward line. Marshall rucking the full game will leave King and Members as our tall forwards, leaving 2 of Grimes, Vlastuin, Astbury and Balta to kill us in the air. To avoid this happening playing only Members and King as our tall forwards, we had better be lowering our eyes and the forwards better being constantly moving and leading because our kick it to King strategy will end up with Richmond getting a record for marks in our f50.

Geary to Houli!! He has been awesome playing as defensive forward.

Be so great to win this.

I’m not going to get too caught up with the Ben long case tonight because I’m so focused on the final and how we can go and play against the Tigers.

But what I would say is if it was the what could have happened my mind casts back to when Heath Shaw slid right through Dan Butler‘s legs. That was potentially career ending.

I'm glad we are appealing the finding. Not only coz it's a BS decision but also strengthens the 'us against them feel' and shows Longy and all the players the club has their back.

I suspect it's as much about building a strong club bond as it is about the actual result.

But, we win the appeal and the AFL and their cronies to issue a formal apology for the unfair treatment of our gentle soul Longy.
