i really hope we can get into Kent's ear and get him to play a bit like he did against hawthorn. he has some leg speed and grunt, it's just not being realised for now for what ever reason.

if he can come out playing like a man possessed he could have a very good game

Well just finished work for the day. The challenge now is to not start drinking too early. Maybe slip down to the local bowlsy for a burger and a slowww pint of guiness or two. Who am i kidding, gonna be trashed by 4pm. Then, a bit like the saints last week, try to hold on to make it through to the end! Go Saints!!!
Saints Fan and like a pint of the black stuff....we need more of you!

Wow they must be paying over $4 for this game!

Forget the $4 - I’ve had $10 on the over 39 - currently a massive $36. Really think we can expose this lot tonight.

Also, and with respect to the “ house money” crew, I for one will be real shitty if we don’t win tonight. Now that we are here I want to win the whole damn thing. No guarantees we will be playing finals again next year. While we have had a good year to date, good is not good enough for me. Like others, I saw us fall short in 71, 97, 09, 10. Screw second. Screw good enough to get there.

I want a trophy.

Big outs for us, but I am super pumped for the three guys that get a crack at a final… imagine how excited Battle, Marsh & Savage are?

Great story for Marsh to make it here after what he has worked through.

Savage probably unlucky to find himself out of the side after 6 years as a regular. He'll bring some finals experience and will know better than anyone that this opportunity doesn't come around all the time.

Battle is built for this stuff, hope he announces himself tonight.

Excited to see a great Margaret River lad suited up in the red black and white for a final. Bumped into his old East Freo Colts coach this year who described him a rough diamond with huge upside. Good luck to all the fellas and give em hell Jono!

I've been playing this one down in the numerous messages replying to friends and family wishing me luck.."I'm really proud we got this far" I'll say, however come 7:50pm I'll morph into the usual raving lunatic version of myself when the saints are on, so may as well get warmed up now "CARN YOU MIGHTY SAINTS...WE'RE GOING ALL THE WAY!!!"

Obviously nervous like all of you.

Like someone said in the game preview thread, Roma is the key to us winning tonight. If he has a massive night and plucks the ball out of the ruck and pumps it forward and wins us clearances, we can win the game.

He lowered his colours to Nank last time. But Roma is a competitive beast who will be fired up for redemption and I reckon he will announce himself to the wider football public tonight with a dominant rucking performance.

Our main hope is winning clearances and getting it forward quickly and pressuring everywhere. It will be a pretty simple formula if we are to get up.

We matched well against this Richmond team for years when when we were no good.

We are not no good anymore so let’s take it right up to them.

I'm not nervous because of - our outs;
- the game's at Metricon; and
- we're playing the wounded Tigers.

However, I'm very excited because............. we can win this!!

We have a good team.
We have a very hungry, slick, smart team who are learning fast and are enjoying themselves.
We have a team of players who believe they can win.
We have coaches who believe they can win.
We have supporters who believe they can win. Like you good people I'm one of them and I believe!!!

What I can't do though is wait for the game. OK, I fibbed a bit, I am nervous and very impatient, so its beer o'clock!!

GO YOU MIGHTY SAINTERS!!!!!

Can we all admit we are nervous and at the same time proud of our boys?

Drink up my fellow Saints supporters. I'll go to my grave saying we have the best supporters of any club.

I have pictures that I wont share. The shortest shorts, gumboots and a Saints jumper. From 1982!

Pies Fan here, good luck against Richmond. I hope you beat them otherwise you'll see some punch-ups next week between a Port supporter and a Richmond supporter.

Pies and Port Supporters going against each other would be epic!

Thanks for the kind words.

Us Saints supporters are a mix of everything. Poor, making the rent, living cheque to cheque, living comfortably, rich.

But that doesn't matter as we come together for our footy club.
