No, not really.
I lived in Sydney for a couple of years, and as much as I loved going to GWS games one thing really stood out. 99% of 'GWS fans' were supporters of other clubs who took out memberships to go to the games.
You could show up to the gates with a free children's ticket and if you were prepared to wear a GWS scarf they would let you in and give you a free pie. I went to Rebel sport in Grand Final week in '17, and not a single GWS item was for sale. Just two Swans jumpers right up the back.
I love to cruise other club boards here too, and GC supporters are way more active and passionate than the GWS bandwagoners.

There's a whole country supporting the giants

I wonder if things would have been different if Hawk hadnt missed that sitter at the start last week, it sort of set the tone for the game, he kicks it and who knows maybe we get momentum, anyway lets start well tonight, no ****ing around with the ball in the back half just get it out and forward.

16 minute quarters and we would have only played 18 games to this very point in time (opposed to the 23 so far). Big difference when you have an average playing age of 28 years, 140 days.

I was referring to the failed prelims before breaking through last year
Arguably the toughest game to win

I just think if we get there...unscathed... we are more than a punchers chance of progressing

just my feeling

I'd love to know in how many of our qualifying finals that we've lost, have we had the chance to kick the first goal if not multiple early goals but instead we've shown an inability to convert those chances while the opposition has instead made the most of theirs

Id hazard a guess and say 75% of them!!!

Scott has previously slaughtered finals by throwing Dangerfield forward as he played well against an ordinary defence the week before, then consequently didn't get a touch. If Dangerfield's hand is a problem, you would think a wise move would be to rest him for this game, or field a sub based on this. He MAY be required for this game, but he will CERTAINLY be required for the next.

Perhaps. I think the real 'tone-setter' for the game, though, was the ineptitude and lack of urgency from Guth and Hendo that resulted in their first goal. When you're going to cough up runaway goals from situations that were as straightforward as that one, I think everyone is in danger of thinking that the team is in for a long night.

Which is, of course, precisely the sort of mental fragility that has driven many Cats supporters mad over recent seasons. Why not use the 'face palm moments' to steel yourselves for what's next and crack in even harder next time? As it is, we appear to have far too many who retreat even further into reactive play and a passive mindset. And the game often then gets out of hand really quickly as we get obliterated for energy and intent while the players take what seems like an eternity to get back to solidly competing again.

Get angry, get aggressive, get to work, whatever. Just don't get overwhelmed and sit back trying to parry the blows. It never works for us at all, and sadly the scoreboard during those periods shows that better than anything else.

Fire with fire, Cats. Fire. With. Fire.

if there is a next game
Can’t imagine a week does much for a hand or finger that requires surgery anyway

No way Danger misses unless re-injuring risks permanent damage.
He'll be well strapped and have a jab , we need him in the guts tonight in wrecking ball mode.................

I just can't see that aggravating a fracture is a necessity for winning this game. He is a force to be reckoned with, but even when fully fit, exercises a far bit of unnecessary overkill. You don't want conditioned players passing to a compromised target.

Go Cats, got my 150 anniversary Guernsey on today. Always brings me luck during finals. Got a feeling we will win tonight. Looking forward to the match!! Thankfully it’s in Perth the weather might be better over there, if they were playing here it’d be a slog.

Can you get in his brother's ear and convince him to come home for us?
I'm not sure if many know but Jack's dad and his uncle are twin brothers.
