Will never play the full 22 (plus finals!) He just does not have the body for it. So what I`m saying is, even when he is up and about, rest him. He is an injury waiting to happen Gumby. I`m still not sure if he really knows how to protect himself in a pack situation, he`ll either take mark of the day or come down in a crumbling mess.

Any updates on the Gumbleton situation?

My mail was he had his minor knee op late August making it 12+ weeks recovery so far.

It's a bit concerning he has been off the track so long given how prominent he is expected to be in the forward line next year.

As a disclaimer, I have the Gumby in a FF league where squads are rolled year to year and am starting to worry about the risk of carrying a bloke who seems destined to have some sort of unfortuante curse when it comes to being injured.

I've been reading with interest some people's recollections of Paul Salmon and his ability to ruck and play in the forward line.

We seem to have plenty of choices for forwards atm, especially with Carlisle, Steinberg, Hardingham and Hurley (though I prefer Hurls playing defence) waiting their turn, and Joey D not too far away as well.

Hirdy recently mentioned, and Sean Wellman (top bloke that Wellman) confirmed that with the new interchange rules ruckman are going to have to have greater stamina.

Gumby's tank has been spoken of at length. Is he someone we should/could consider developing into a ruckman as well? Could he possibly be another Salmon?

I like the idea but would prefer not as rucks generally have a lot of stress put on the body and are more likely to get injured. Dont mind him taking a couple a game but prefer to reduce the chance of further injury where possible.
