1. Forward line will work. First half Buddy good,Tippett quiet. Second half Tippett good Buddy quiet. Goodes and Reid not too much impact tonight. Loving it.

2. Luke Parker should have been given Buddys contract

3. Midfield starting to kick goals like they did in 2012.

3b. Backline starting to gel. Hope they stand up against Geelong.

1. Shaw can still play at this level. His field kicking was very very good tonight, often supplying run and delivery.

2. Rampe is a truly competitive fellow. He has great endurance and is a very good judge of when to press the ball and when to stay. For an sfl player amazing result.

3. We still need to find someone to get to tippets feet, if we get that player we will be a complete forward line.

Now I didn't learn this but I have to say - goodes needs to spend more time on the ball if he can his endurance back. He feels lost spending of all of his game forward of the ball.

1. The short sharp handballing under pressure was back tonight, and as good as ever. That's the indicator I was looking for to tell if we're really in form again.

2. Buddy was good fun to watch tonight. More than his goals, I loved his pressure without the ball and movement when the ball came to ground.

3. We all know and love Parker, but on the Friday night stage I think the neutral football community has now really taken notice of him.

1. Derickx has some serious hops
2. Jude Bolton has had some dental work done
3. Bomber Thompson is more entertaining after a loss than Alastair Clarkson

1. Kennedy is back to career best form - only Ablett and Pendles top him imo.
2. The forward line is beginning to sync
3. Bird's career is breaking new ground

1. Between blaming yet another loss to the Swans on umpiring ("we wuz robbed by da umps") for the umpteenth time, and booing an injured umpire, Essendon supporters confirmed yet again that they are certified 42-IQ gimps - the worst in the league by a mile.

2. I'm calling it now - Parker is an elite mid

3. Tom Mitchell & Gary Rohan will struggle to make their way back into the side, whilst LRT & ROK have almost certainly played their last AFL games barring a long injury list.

1: Hawk fans are no where near as pathetic has bombers supporters.
2: our midfield is still not firing at 100%
3: if we play like that against geelong we will get killed.

yes its negative after a win but deadset against an actual team and not washed up drug cheats we would get pulled apart serving up that shit. the bombers couldn't even beat Ainslie playing the way they did. i know, know when you score heavily you inevitably bleed goals the other way but deadset we went to sleep at time's through that game. do that to an actual AFL team and we would have watched that lead shrink to nothing and been over run by 3qtr time.

Essendon may not be playing the best, but imo no-one would kill us at the moment. I actually thought our midfield played very well. They still have improvement to go, but at least they are dominating the inside numbers, are back to quick hbs (even if they are to some flatfooted receivers), and are now kicking goals again. Their also leading the league in contested footy, hardball gets, and are 3rd in clearances.

Did they go to sleep at times? Or did they take a breather? I thought they were pretty relentless tonight, more-so then any game we've seen this year, and given the lead decided to ease up at stages.

Anyway, just my opinion, Im going to sleep. l8r.

You can't really gauge it like that tho lol, remember saying the same thing after the Melbourne game " if we play like this Hawthorn will kill us" every week is a different performance and outcome.

1. The benefits of having 2 gun forwards, Tippett was reasonably held by Hooker (save for that silly deliberate OOB) but Buddy played superbly against Hurley.
2. Foot and hand skills have shot up dramatically in the last 3 weeks. Some of the ball movement in the first quarter was especially breathtaking.
3. Kennedy's close-in work, with his ability to bullock through packs and release a handball or quick kick is the best in the league.

Definitely hit the snooze button midway through the 2nd and just kept slamming it for the rest of the night. Before they knew it, 9am had already rolled on.

1. Kennedy is the second best player in the AFL
2. Early call but I can't think of a better forward line (on paper) in the history of the game
3. If our mids hold form and our forwards match their potential we will win this years flag.

I am uber bullish Swans 2014!

1. Super glad Dempsey doesn't play for the Swans, would be so frustrating to watch every week
2. Rampe was everywhere, my man crush just get deeper each week. That 60m bomb was a sight to behold
3. 8 goals to our key forwards, the rest evenly spread amongst the mids and ruck :p nightmare scenario for oppo coaching panels. Loving it!!

1 : Birds big pre season being fully fit has helped take his game to the next level , inside game and his spread has been top notch so far ( kicking still worries me at times ).

2 : Might get laughed at but Grundy is in the best form of his career and maybe even in contention for All Aus atm. ( Richards in great form also an glad he has singed on ).

3 : Our field kicking the last 2 weeks in the first quarter has been 2nd to none and will only get better I hope ( We still need to get to 4 quarters of this ).

3 a: Laidlers courage is fantastic and at this point him and Dericx and getting them for nothing has worked in a favour massively ( kudos to our recruitment staff once again )
3 b : Harry has cemented a spot in the 22 for me , has taken down S Hill , M Suckling , B Harvey , B Stanton

punts you realise half our team should be AA the way they play never happen's FFS kennedy basically caught, scaled, filleted and deboned the entire dons mid field and that lethal could barely acknowledge his efforts. was smirking when they made lethal give him a wrap.

Kennedy is only surpassed by ablett Jnr atm and lethal didn't put him in his "most valuable" squad or whatever the **** he calls it.

1. Derrickx is becoming quite a story
2. I like Sam Reid taking grabs in the middle and 2nd rucking
3. Our defenders are unsung heroes, solid as.

yeah looking at the AFL match centre stats we were beaten or even (thereabouts) in all the stats but some how managed to win by 9 goals - must have been a hell of a first quarter and a half
