Then we might actually get out of 4th range pick territory for him.

Yeah it'd be ****ing great if the penny dropped, he gained confidence, stopped questioning himself, played instinctively while inside the structures etc etc. But the risk! His issues are between the ears. Even if he ended the year well I would have zero confidence he could maintain any newfound form. No confidence whatsoever. I don't say that to have a go at him, I wish him the best, but he's played himself into form a half dozen times before only to then turn himself into a barely sentient crab for two games at the tail end of each run before getting dropped again. How can you have any true belief that he's turned the corner *this time*?

He needs a fresh start, and we need to let go. No more false dawns.

One of the great sights is watching him in flight attacking a pack. I'd love him to play the rest of the year thinking every ball kicked into a pack situation is his.

Can genuinely fly from 4 deep and clunk them. Needs to think he is the dominant forward.

unfortunately guys to Mason when they sign a long term contract they get too comfortable with no pressure on them. Now in his last year of this contract his has to pull his finger out but is unable too as he has cruised for the past three years

The more I think about it, the more I don’t hate the idea of Mase getting a one year deal for depth - always seems a class above in the two’s so can hopefully keep the seniors on their toes in that regard, plus he might be handy injury cover (assuming he is able to have a greater impact when we’ve got more of our real 22 on the field and he’s not one of the lone senior heads in a team filled with 20 year olds)

Yes he can play. Not as our main forward. There’s countless draft picks not as good as him.
