What else can we do? We don't have a single other genuine key postion forward on the list.

Liam McBean would be turning in his grave. Would be a walk up start every week right now

McBean is a worse contested mark than Ryan. Would perform even worse.

Has to play for me give him games and confidence will grow.
I'd drop both him and Miller if there was anyone above 5'6 that I could put in the seniors.

Games are earned and I'm sorry to say but tonight's wasn't there. Yes he got to good spots, but failing to execute just isn't forgiven at this level. He needs to put on more size and he isn't a main man type at this stage and that's what we need.

The kid is thereabouts. Gets to the right spots and puts himself in line for opportunities. One day soon it will click and the kid will be off and running, the thing a lot of people need to remember is he's only 22 and still has another 2-3 seasons until he develops fully into his body. In the meantime, he'll be one who flashes constant glimpses that keeps people interested in what he could become.

Everyone keeps saying he's only 22. Is there much precedence for many key position fowards taking a huge leap at 23+?

Im more hoping his exposure gives him the leap but I'm not certain on precedence. Hate to be the negative Nelly but would love some examples of guys beginning to find it around Samon's age

Don’t think it’s an age thing, I’d say it’s more an experience at AFL level thing. Getting used to playing against better quality defenders and understanding how he can best compete against them.

Thank god none of you guys ever watched Max gawn as a 22 year old

He can make it as a key forward as he has shown against the crows & swans but he looks good in the ruck aswell, not sure about taps to advantage etc but i think the mids have received better service when he’s the ruck

We got bigger issues then him we can say the same about our senior players costing us with there brain fades constantly.

I'm not gonna bother watching the replay of this pathetic game.... But I'll be fu@ked if Samson didn't spill 4 or 5 gettable chestmarks unopposed!!!! Clearly he's putrid unless conditions are perfect.... Maybe to suit the little rubber chested petal we can hope to swap our home ground to Telstra Dome so he can actually get a kick. FMD play Biggie, Bauer, Bradtke, Miller, hell anybody got McBeans number???

I wrote that last week. Plenty defending him cos shnookums doesn't like the wet apparently. FMD was dry for majority of the game and was dropping chestmarks, overhead marks you name it mostly unopposed or against the most crippled defense in history. Gun opposition defenders will carve him up. Our KPF stocks are looking barer than old mother Hubbard's cupboards atm. I'll fu@ken spew if Van Rooyen chugs along kicking another few this weekend. Maybe butterfingers can ask Mason Cox for marking coaching. The useless yank picked it up pretty easily.

The kid is a talent. He was nearly there all night. B Gale was the same remember? Bookmark it he will be good just needs continued development.
Yup, gets in the right spots
Just needs to stick them now and he’s still young especially in terms of KPF development
Not bad at ground level as well and gets involved with handball chains when playing around the ground

Still very green but once he starts to stick those marks he will look a whole lot better

Tim English was a full on spazz early days, he ripped us to shreds a week go.

100% just need to persist with him
Ideally would probably play him into form at vfl level but due to our injuries it’s not really an option

But ultimately game like last night will only help his long term development just need to ride out the roller coaster for now to reap the rewards later
