So it's going to be pushed back from Aug 26th now?

Seriously, what a ****en disgrace this is. The AFL are protecting the EssADA* footy club to the hilt.

Whenever i hear a report about leniency towards Essendon*, im filled with rage. Not sure if it's directed at the bombers, the AFL or both...

These mongrels HAVE injected their boys with strange, dangerous and extremely questionable substances. Yet they continue in their arrogant defiance.

IF the AFL take the soft approach on this to protect the "integrity" of the game, which really means keeping as much out of the public eye as possible, I don't think i'll be able to follow this great sport anymore.

Essendon you make me sick.

Herald Sun quoting Mark Thompson that he's 90 per cent innocent.

In other words, idiot, you're saying that you're guilty.
Based on Thompson's logic, if a mother says to a child not to eat any of the 10 choc chip cookies she has just baked & the child eats one of those cookies, the child is 90 per cent innocent. Try winning that argument with the mother.

I was actually wondering why Bomber was getting charged. I half imagined the AFL bringing him into his hearing first, sitting him down for 9 hours and drop the charges.

Like in a bad mob movie

Jimmy H" what did you tell them?"
Bomber "i told em nothing"
Danny C "you didnt rat us out did you?"
Bomber "its not like that, they just let me go"

Bomber leaves

Jimmy H "That dirty rat flipped on me. Your with me though Danny C, right?"
Danny C "yeah Jimmy, call me Danny tight lips. But i spose we can give em a bit on Bomber and the Doc now though......."

The short answer is no. The AFL's contract for TV rights requires games between 18 teams.

The slightly longer answer is yes... they can but only in extraordinary circumstances...

I think that they threatened to suspend our licence in 2002 to try and get us to cooperate with them in the salary cap scandal.

Don't be too hasty, the delayed charges are for the four amigos, NOT the club itself. In fact, Essendon have not even requested an extension so loss of points this year is still possible.

I think that Essendon* thinks that it is implied that because the other 4 have been given an extension, they will automatically get an extension.

Will come as a massive shock I think next Monday when they get a phone call from the AFL and get asked why they hadnt shown up to their hearing...

I think that there would be an even bigger shock for them if the AFL decides that because they didnt show, it can be seen as an admission of guilt and wacks them with the big hammer instead of the lettuce leaf :)

Just a question, how would it honestly work if they played for no premiership points in 2014? They would have free reign to poleaxe our players and serve suspensions in a year that means nothing. If they aren't playing for points, I don't want them taken the field at all.

10% ... so in other words, he's guilty.
pretty much so I reckon... I also reckon that if you scratch deep enough down at the Geebungs, there might be a few players who had a few extra supplements over the course of Bombers career there...

"Ole Bombers keep up the fight, we're behind you day and night"
Can not believe the official cheer squad had the audacity to put this on their banner on the weekend. Thought it was just a few random idiots in Mexican hats who had the arrogance to support that aspect of the whole debacle.

Simple. Tell all the players that an suspensions from the MRP will be served in the following year. So players can go out an whack as many people as they want, but they will then have two years of nothing to play for.

Your reasonable suspicions are a large part of the reputational damage that has been done to the whole brand of AFL football. Prior to the Essada scandal no one thought to query their dominance of the competition from 2007. Now, anyone seeing the Thompson link would at least have to pose the question "Is it possible?". And it is only human nature for mean spirited, unfair and cynical observers to add fact 1 to fact 2 and say it equals "4" as the answer.

Funny Story........

James Hird sez in the media...

"I can't wait to tell my story'

"I cant wait to address this from my side"
"And we're dealing with an interim report - the report's not finalised"
"We don't believe we've done anything wrong on those lines"
"Look forward to fighting the charges"

:eek::rolleyes:

Now he has nothing to say?? and requests an extension?? How pathetic are the AFL??

Obviously guilty, Bomber Thompson said as much last night on 360....they just wanna hang onto there finals berth and drag this shit out...
