sadly I think you have joined this site to be a part-time comedian
He’s playing as a pressure forward ….. not always easy playing that role especially when the whole team played terrible ….. our role players always look terrible when our system isn’t working

Troll account
Rubbish, I just don’t like the talk of trading jack when he’s playing a tough role that doesn’t always have a lot of reward when things aren’t going well for the team ….. trading a 25 year old when we have a fair few older blokes finishing up in like 2 years isn’t a good idea

Tackling machine and endurance. But I think others are ahead of him. Sonsie for example should be playing in his spot and would at least break even with his output, whilst developing.

If Port or Adelaide offered a pick in the 20s I'd take it.
I’d take a pick in the 30’s in a heart beat

Seriously if he's not going to be a tagger
Than there is no other role
Hes not a ball winner definitely not a running
Outside midfielder ,like others have said by some miracle if we got a 30
Something pick take it and run.

Richmond are 17w 2d 12l with JGTI playing the last two seasons. 58% win rate.

When he has not played....2w 5l. 29% win rate.

Is it just me, or does the team seem to function better when he plays than when he doesn't play?
We all know stats can be manipulated to suit a basic argument. You had to go back 2 seasons to try and dress up his W/L ratio when playing. Unfortunately 2 years ago our jets still could carry him so rather than him stepping up and giving back to our jets he's fallen back further than them. Our w/l RATIO when he's not playing is dahdahdah frog pooh as we are a side going South until we can upgrade guys like JGTIsn't and replace our champion retirees.

Not true at all, I only included 2022 to be consistent with other comparisons I have done.

In 2023 with Graham: 5w 1d 5l 50% win rate.

In 2023 without Graham: 1w 3l 25% win rate.

So the effect is the same this season as it is for this season and last season combined TI. Our win rate doubles with JGTI in the team compared to games where he is not in the team.

But it is very generous of our jets to carry JGTI to twice the amount of wins that they carry his replacement to when he does not play! ;)

Depends who the wins were against.:) All of your stats are anecdotal and really just glorifying a spud as he's more often in our bottom six. o_O
I think it's more with what you said in the Cumberland thread and its when MRJ plays and team balance right with my opinion that Miller is at CHF.:moustache:

So let's maybe take the opportunity to see which of our peripheral role players have been "lucky enough" to play in a higher ratio of wins v losses since the start of 2022.

Team overall record across both seasons is 18w 2d 16l

NB only games where the player has played at least 50% game time counted.

Player1. team win% games played2. team win% games missedfactor of 1 divided by 2(over 1 denotes a positive figure)
JGTI58%29%+2
Maurice57.5%47%+1.22
Sonsie50%54%0.93
Cumberland35%63%0.56
Jud Clarke50%54.2%0.92
Marlion53%53%1.0
Ross52%53%0.98
Mansell42%59%0.71
Miller56%50%1.12
Ryan45%56%0.8
Dow33%57%0.58
Hugoralph40%70%0.57
Castagna54%52%1.04

I just realised some of these are slightly wrong as they don't include the most recent loss v Lions, where I did include that for Cumberland. So factor that in, but here is the order this gives us for all of these players who have played roles forward in that period:

1. JGTI

Daylight

2. Maurice

3. Miller

4. Castagna

5. Marlion

The rest are all in negative terrain

6. Ross

7. Sonsie

8. Clarke

9. Ryan

10. Mansell

11. Cumberland

12. Hugoralph

13. Dow

This may help explain why JGTI is an automatic selection, and why Castagna was favoured for so long by the selectors. Miller and Maurice come out of this relatively well. And the potential delists might be lurking down the bottom.

It is more important how well the team functions when you play in it than how well you appear to play to the casual observer imo.

Just to note, I am sure a lot of these standings will change over time, but to my mind the above would be a vague order of merit at selection for these guys at the present time.

George come back please, all is forgiven. :)

From a 19 yo 3 goal tagging dominant player in a gf to this. He has one position only and he’s not playing there, probably won’t either in this team.
We did the wrong thing signing him up after hopper and TT. He deserves more.

This is spot on, seemed obvious to a lot of us last year that he was going to struggle to find a permanent spot in the side, Ross should have taken that role this year and leave Pickett and Kmac on the wings until a better option presents.

We could have got a mid to late 20's pick last year, wouldn't get anything now.

Had to sneak him in against our kids. Shows you where he's at. :'(:rolleyes::drunk::)
Still an anecdotal stat MR as there are too many variables. JH and JGTI w/l record playing together would be interesting.
