More to like every time he plays. Showing a lot of traits that weren't really on display prior to his AFL stint, it's remarkable how quickly he's developed real smarts in the clinches, just looks better the higher the standard is. That little workaround he did with Harry Sheezel where they both handballed it back and forth to clear the area was something you'd expect from a couple of 200 gamers, looking forward to seeing how the two of them work together for years to come. Add that stuff to his ****ing loathing of ever being beaten, training like a madman, and his ability to run and cover the ground, and this guy is a massive find with a nothing draft pick. Will be the engine of our recovery.

I would say give him #11 but #34 suits him just fine.

I think we've got a real player on our hands. When you're at the game you really notice how good he is at getting to the right position defensively, just lacks the physical strength at the moment to hold that position. When he fills out he's going to be quite formidable.

He will be a good defender for 10 years for us. Went too hard in pre season and ****ed his groin. He's got the steal and heart of a shinboner

Good genes, puts on size pretty easily. If he can keep his running power and tidy the kicking a little he could be a pretty useful lockdown defender. He's good at winning and halving contests.

Bodytype he's actually more gifted than Glenn. Taller, longer limbed, leaner with more pronounced development at same age.

Unfortunately football isn't CrossFit so there's a bit more to it though.

LMac, Fisher, Sheezel, Goater, Bergman, Archer & Hardeman fighting over 3/4 spots. All six backline spots are up for grabs.
The thing I like about this is only Sheezel is a walk up start. For all of Luke's experience I don't think he should be an automatic selection (even thought he probably will be) he makes us so much slower coming out of defence, plenty of opportunities for the younger players:
Sheezel
Fisher / McDonald
Bergman / Goater / Hardeman
Archer

Thought he also improved his kicking a lot this year. I do remember one really poor kick but besides that hid efficiency was generally around 78%
Agree with this - he showed clear signs of developing from 'stopper' (and that's all he did) to a more rounded footballer with some run

Out on a limb;

" will make it " 👍
One play he made in his debut game, or maybe his 2nd or 3rd game convinced me. There was a hardball to be won on the defensive side of the wing. He slid into the contest, hard and low, without taking out his opponent's feet, won the footy and got it out to a teammate. Like father like son. That sort of manic ferocity at the contest should translate to form on field before too much longer.

Won’t make it …
Too many in front of him now … one trick position back pocket player in this day & age with a crap kick …
