After watching the Pav today I'm so glad we signed up Black.

Freo are in desperate need of a another forward in the coming years and can see how Black would be a priority.

Just got shot down in the main board for stating this in a "PAV" thread by a Carlton supporter
Maybe a bit of jealousy there too, remember they were also keen at the time for Black

Summary
If it weren't for the poor early-season form of Lachie Hansen up forward and a leg injury to Robbie Tarrant, it is scary to think that we may not have seen any of the excellence that Aaron Black brought to the table in 2013. A late inclusion into the Round 5 side that played Hawthorn, Black made an impact and ensured he wouldn't be leaving the best 22 any time soon. Nine goals in his first four weeks in the senior team had media analysts taking note, and he notched a career-high five goal haul in Round 10 against St Kilda to go with 17 disposals, seven marks and four tackles.

Not only was Black having an impact up forward with his superb athleticism and cat-like reflexes, he was also capable of pushing into the midfield and leave a stamp on the game. He averaged just under 14 touches a match, 4.8 marks, 2.4 tackles and he kicked 33 goals. With just 22 games to his name, the sky is the limit for Black, and after re-signing with North Melbourne until the end of 2017, all supporters haven't quite felt the amount of potential he brings to the table for quite some time.

Quote:North Melbourne forward Aaron Black has spoken of the void that will be left for the rest of the season, and considerably after, following the Achilles injury to skipper Andrew Swallow.

Most natural forward we've had since Duck. No where near as strong a mark as the great man and an area Black has admitted needs work. He also stated he wants to be known very good defensively, reeks team orientated to me! Other than that theres not too many glaring deficiencies, ground level skills are elite for a KPer, excellent set shot routine, knows where the goals are and super fast on the lead.

A massive win of 2013 season seeing the arrival of Black and of course his commitment to remain a Roo long term warms the hearts of all supporters, team mates and club. Will prove a real headache for opposition clubs going forward.

we were all excited by the glimpses he showed early against Brisbane and Richmond but god we that exploded this year. I was worried he wouldn't get a go and end up at Freo/WC...thank goodness that's not the case. Excited to see his game develop right before our very eyes.

G.U.N!!!
