Cooper makes instant impact
The son of AFL great Brent, Cooper Harvey made his debut on Sunday – and it didn't take him long to have an impact. Harvey's first touch was a goal assist, handballing to Darcy Tucker for the game's opening goal. It was a difficult afternoon as the Cats dominated, but Harvey also kicked his first goal and took a game-high five contested marks.

Who the **** know where he fits in with our glut of forwards that are inconvenient heights. Ah well, good to have some power and swagger in the team at any rate

couple of those marks were because of great kicks to his advantage by McDonald.

And the fact that he was playing on an Irish bloke who didn't grow up with the game so Cooper could easily manoeuvre him under the ball.

It was a great debut and the kid stays, but at least two of those marks get killed by a more experienced defender.

Completely, Copper did more than enough to demonstrate he belongs at the level.
Thats it for me. I love it when a new player just looks like he fits. Sheez and Warlord did - so does Cooper. Hope he can develop as well as them.

He was playing a bloody hard role at the best of times, let alone in our developing side.

Made the most of it.

Agree - looks likely. The three kids are our hope for the future. At the least they look like they want to be out there. Quite a few others look like they are playing for the paycheque.

How long until the kids become disillusioned and lose a chunk of the intrinsic motivation because of those around them? This is why it's vital to have quality leaders in every age bracket. So the team develops cohesively, instead of young blokes having to try and carry the team forward when they are ill equipped to do so, and inevitably having their enjoyment of the game diminished

There’s ways around it, you isolate the senior squad from the jnrs, you put a whole heap more effort into the jnrs, senior players who ain’t going to try, you let them play out the year and ruthlessly cut or trade them for chips at the end of the year.

Maybe we can put him on the Matt Mcguiness diet.
