There is a bit of a leap there, encouraging sign. Listed at 195cm, but your footballing height really has less to do with how high your head reaches and more to do with how far the top of your shoulders are from the ground. So a player like this that doesn't have an especially long neck is going to play taller than his height when measured to the top of his head. I am going with 197-198cm equivalent. Also strongly built and starting to resemble an AFL footballer's physique, and he can shift a bit when he gets wound up.

I have loved his output over recent weeks and getting quite bullish on him now. He is just turned 22. Things I would like to see improve, just his agility and maybe the normal improvement you would expect to see from a full time player in his disposal touch and accuracy and decision making. It will be really good if the club gets a chance to give him a game or two at least this season, then more games next year and 2025 he could be a chance to claim a permanent spot in the AFL team.

You just know the brains trust will be loving his recently developed ferocious attack on the ball.

Is tracking similar to Bauer last yr. Once he figures out the contested marking stuff (gets outmarked a bit easy at times) he'll become a beast.

Nahhh will be totally suprised if KB makes a career out of footy...just does not demonstrate footy nous...or footy IQ...or urgency to get involved in the game and/or create an opportunity!...maybe I am too used to JR8's skill, smarts and so blinded to other candidates!

gives me reece mackenzie vibes.... maybe minus the public f-you exit letter!
Still think Mackenzie could of made it just seemed like a right person wrong time kind of situation

He did a AMA on reddit a couple of years ago and seemed like he was doing well
Hopefully that’s still the case
Seemed like a good kid/bloke

I met Mackenzie straight after he was drafted and he was a very bitter, angry young man at that stage. Kept bringing up Carlton and how they had overlooked him. This was to a table of Tiger Faithful who couldn't give a rats behind about the Bluebaggers draft strategy.

One other thing that struck me was his arrogance. He openly stated that he would be our number one forward by the end of the year (I waited for the smirk, wink or chuckle afterwards but no, he was that confident!). It was really off putting and I've never seen that in any other recruit....even from the eternally confident Jack!!

The club recruited him knowing about his mental health struggles but in the end, when his self worth did not match up to onfield performance, he lost it and became incredibly angry at the club.

When he exited the club, I said the same thing at the time as I do now, I wish him nothing but good luck in the future but sometimes the inner demons are just too strong.

Sounds like a full blown narcissist. Pretty much the opposite of what has become known as the Richmond Man.

He was sadly a basket case mate.

Wasnt his football that was the problem , piss poor analogy really, not aware kb has acute mental health issues
Certainly wasnt the ill-intended comment you thought it was Bo, I wish Reece all the best but I was implying the class of Bradtke and the way he presents himself personally, would not see that sort of exit. Seems like a well liked young lad, good to see him stir steve morris up in the recent 'Tom Brown Behind The Scenes' video on the RFC website.

You have no idea got nothing to do with Bradtke
Things this has to do with Bradtke:

  • Same height (2cm difference)
  • Same Position
  • Same Role
  • Same challenges with the agility side of VFL. Eg. Burst leads, body contact, turning, clean gather & disposal when unable to mark or poorly kicked to....Pivotal for modren day chaos footy.
  • Both gun local/country footballers

Similar build and stature, similar path paved. It is not all that foregin really. Similar also to our man last to leaaaavvee cleeevee.

Still early for Bradtke, may just need a proper preseason potentially leaning out to add to his step.

I know we are desperate for real key forward talent but does Bradtke look like he could develop into a quality forward. I have not seen any live vfl matches this year but from the snippets I have seen online, he doesn't look imposing enough. I know it's a longshot (and not really what we need) but is it worth trying him at fullback for the remainder of the vfl season?

No continue his development as a key forward needs more games , he’s stepped up from country to VFL footballer , needs a pre season to step up again to afl level

The thing about Bradtke (which i hate in players ) is he has that laconic look and movement when the ball is not in his area
just doesnt look hungry and walks around smelling the flowers

Could have been a 100 goal FF in the 1990's feel about him
Yeah I agree mate. I wish he was more hungrier for the footy than we are for an Adana at Katik.

I have only been able to watch a few of his games, when I do I like that he looks to have a bit of mongrel in his eyes. We need that in a forward, especially a key forward.

Maybe he doesn't make it, I hope he does and I hope he gets enough chances to find out.

He’s literally played < 10 games and broke his hand in that time that he took a few weeks to get over, the good news is that he’s made the jump from country to vfl , Will need to continue improving to be afl ready , worth a 12m extension

Agree, think our supporters can be a tad harsh on our younger players sometimes.
