He’s just not a good consistent footballer and sooks it up
He had heaps of opportunities at senior level to prove himself. He might get lucky and get on another list but maybe he needs to drop a level and work out what he wants to do

“25 games is a lot better than most”. Is about right. Only 60-70 kids out of hundreds, will be selected this draft. Many won’t be, because (perhaps like Noah) they struggle with the “defend” bit. But Noah lasted 5 seasons, and two seasons after Dimma suggested he take a good hard look at himself, he was still there. This guy showed how hard it is to make it in this game, and also how hard it is to stay there. Good luck man, good work.

However, I believe it is highly likely that Cumberland will be playing AFL for another club next year or at least be on a list. Carlton and Port are two clubs starved of half forwards and he could sneak onto either of their lists.

Bit rough on Cumberland here. The others were all shit humans. I don't think Cumberland had an attitude problem, he's just a dumb footballer.
i know what he's delivered or not delivered - but i would've given him another - he's got it, either he doesn't know it or how to tap into it properly at AFL level .... yet

Cumberland definitely had an attitude problem.
And his biggest flaw is he lacked accountability. On and off the field. On field, he didn't chase or tackle, or follow up with defensive efforts for a long portion of his career.
Off field, he lackes accountability. When deficiencies and areas of improvement in his game were highlighted, instead of saying 'yep, I'll work on them', he spat the dummy and sooked because he wasn't being picked at AFL level.
You'd be blind to say he didn't have an attitude problem based on several games where his poor attirude and body language shone through.

Off field? He spat the dummy when deficiencies and areas of improvement in his game were highlighted... how would you know if he said yep I'll work on them or not, none of us would.
On field you may or may not have a point, but off field I saw one interview where he was very honest about deficiencies and areas of improvement, other than that nothing. He seemed pretty popular with team mates so he couldn't have been that bad.
Didn't make it for whatever reason, leave it at that.

We will regret this. Never gave him consistent opportunities after his breakout season. Its almost like everyone wanted him to fail bevause they focused on his weaknesses not his strengths. All we wanted to play was defensive forwards in a bottom of the ladder team.

Thank goodness he’s gone. A player has to conform and adjust to a team game plan, if he can’t adjust he becomes redundant. That’s was Cumbo. No excuses for him. Had opportunity and didn’t make it.
I’m trying to be nice but it’s not in my nature. He was a spud!
