I honestly had not heard of this guy, given he seems to be more of a forward than a ruck (or am I wrong), why didn’t we just take the fairly highly rated Jack Whitlock?
Think the plan is for a Ryan/Sims ruck combo resting fp.
3 talls surrounded by wizz bangers.

We had to regenerate our forward line it was bare. Lefau is injured, undersized and let’s face it not much chop. Kosi is not any good, lynch is finished and Fawcett is a project. Ryan can’t mark and gray might be ok but who knows.
This kid can mark and is a bit bigger than faull and Armstrong with good agility. Like it a lot
Harsh but fair in regards too Lefau.Love his attitude etc but let's be honest at afl level you can't be learning the game like he is.

Every AFL player is constantly learning about the game so Lefau is not alone in that respect...
It's more a question of what he brings to the game...has he got attributes that contribute to Team success...
If so ged him in quick smart...

Lefau have met him twice and he is so good with his time for fans - my daughters fav. that being said his footy is good novelty value but after 2 ACLs i reckon he will be nearly cooked.

Geezus! Some of you guys are hard task masters.

LeFau was our spearhead after Lynch went down in round 3, in the next 8 games he kicked 12 goals, if you include his 2 goals in the round 3 win against the Swans then it's 14 goals in 9 games.

All this when we went to shit with some huge floggings and SFA delivery into the F50.

He's an ideal 3rd forward who can take advantage of others being manned up, his attack on the ball and player compliments a forward line with one or two other talls

And you'd know of tigs2010 after dark activities how?

Not the basics though.
Coming from a very long way back .

Debatable...guy has a rugby league background...a tough background...in the few AFL games he played he kicked what was it 18?! goals...
That effort would surely have shortened his ...coming from a very long way back...to months and inches...
What he brings in toughness, speed and marking more than makes up for his deficiencies whilst improving, not learning...the AFL game...

Lefau is 100% made for the job we need him to do. Ie, put physical pressure on the opposition as well as give us some offensive value while our next wave are coming through. Remembering, players are normally not hitting their peak before turning 24. So if we can get 4-5 years good service from Lefau that will be absolutely ideal for both Richmond & his team-mates. I hope his knees stand up.

Not sure what your on about because he had most of the basics tackling, marking and a beautiful kick at goal. He was the one that was improving by the week in that role without a KF next to him.

OHB & Colina are Cat B and don't even have to play VFL level. Grey, Blight, Fawcett can't be sticking around beyond 2025. Maybe the club has no confidence in Lynch, Lefau, Young and Gibcus getting on the park, despite new fitness guy.

Mad to sign Ryan for 3 more .
Yep, lots of talls on the list.
Quality is the concern.

Rucks- OHB and Collina won’t make it. Samson has 3 more I suspect for depth. Nothing else except for Nank and now Sims? Am I missing someone?
Sims and Samson competing for the one spot in the 18 longer term.

Key Backs- Blight. Like him. Great mark, can read the play and holds his ground. Gets beaten on the burst so needs to improve that to make it. Kosi trialling down back.

Blight, Miller, Kosi and Young competing for one spot in the 18 longer term.

Forwards- Gray, Lefau and Bauer playing for one position as that third tall. Lynch takes the FF spot for 1-2 more years but need to plan for life after him.

Fawcett now competes with Armstrong and Faulk for two longer term spots in the 18.

If anything we have created depth at key back, FF, CHF, 2nd ruck and 3rd Forward spots.

Let’s see how they all develop over 2025.

Exciting times.

I must admit I was hoping for Dodson with this pick, as I see he had so much upside. But will keep my fingers crossed that Sims becomes a very good hybrid Ruck/Fwd to compliment our future ruck & Forward stocks.

He's competing with Bauer.
Bauer the more natural footballer.
Thats the difference.
