FWIW Buller flew to Adelaide with the team. They've done nothing since landing besides a captain's run at Adelaide Oval. He's unlikely to have had any sort of serious injury during a captain's run. More likely it's just a general soreness and they didn't want to take the risk in case he's needed pending Amartey's fitness.

Can't stand the bullshit saying captains run , where does it come from ?

I'm bullish on Buller for next season. He's got great forward craft, promising 2nd ruck effectiveness & looks to have good footy instincts (similar to mclean). Hopefully an off-season with further conditioning, developing his body & familiarity with team mates leads to a big 2024 for him. I can see him overtaking Amartey as our 3rd tall fwd. I'm on the bandwagon.

This surprised me. Because Buller seemed fit enough to play VFL. And I did not expect us to be interested in the 2024 MSD given the lateness of our pick and our tight list spots.

If Buller has been having persistent back issues that have been hampering him. Maybe the club has committed to re-rookie him as KPF depth for next year. And told him to get his body right rather than struggle through the season making it worse.

Conversely, he may have been thanked for his services & told that the club won’t stand in the way of him relocating back home immediately.

Feel for both Buller & Harry Arnold, injury has cruelled the chances of both.

Given both remain contracted I assume we will be paying their medical bills through our insurance. Not sure if location is a factor.
But yes, their injuries have been a real bummer. I had genuine hopes for Buller in particular.

That also seems a plausible scenario. It is shame because he was in a position where he was the next tall forward to come in. And he has just turned 23 which is still young for a KPF. So the back injury must have been affecting him if he could not play out the season and see if it would improve.

In hindsight he did not seem to be moving as well in the VFL games. Which made him look slower and less agile than he probably naturally is. It is strange that both Arnold and Buller are struggling with a persistent back injury.

Many people have back issues no matter what age
