Over to the batsmen. Marnus really needs to contribute, while Stokes was a gun in 2019 here we actually lost the game with lazy batting in the third innings thinking over 300 was enough.
Stokes has never been consistent so to see him do it a third time in a row I'd happily say fair play to him. Batting should be easier then innings one so we should be able to get a 350+ lead. Need to be batting this time tomorrow.

Well no, they cleaned up the tail in the first innings at lords, and we did ok at edgbaston.
He also took 6 for. Stokes in that mood can do almost anything.
However I think we need to treat bowling more like t20 in that situation, and try to bowl 6 different balls an over. Cummins did eventually do that, Murphy was pretty good with that too.

We held all of our reasonable chances. Yes, one dropped just short of Starc and a caught and bowled chance arrived too quickly but I'm not calling them drops.
