He's got no trade value at his salary and age anyway.

Who's picking up that contract for next year? Only chance we'd get something good for him is by paying a big chunk of the salary, and effectively buying a good draft pick from a club in a window who wants Dusty for a year to help them get there.

It's just media talk I don't see it happening.

Yep, and Brendan Gale has stated publicly he isn’t a fan of paying someone to play at another club.

Only way I can see it happening is if he requests a trade and agrees to restructure his deal to less money per year but more years.

Which for his age, I think is unlikely.

Agree, I think he'll see out his career with us and potentially call time end of next year.

He could probably go on another year if he wanted, but I'm not 100% sure he will want to. I reckon with nothing more to achieve in the game, he's now set up for life, he might call time after about 300 games. He's a bit more prone to injury too these days so that might also be a factor. Think his love and passion for the game has probably taken a hit after the loss of his father and the severe injury he had.

Dusty is playing really well imo. There is just a little connection issue where team-mates seem to be popping up in the wrong spots when he wins contests and he is feeling compelled to give it to them. His disposal is also just slightly off its normal surgical precision. His effort and investment is there for all to see, and he seems to be looking stronger with each passing match. I think he enjoys the footy club, and no reason to think he won't carry on for the foreseeable future.

Other factor is he is extremely close to Cotchin and Riewoldt. If both retire at seasons end (as expected), I wonder if that impacts his future?

If I'm that teammate I'm talking to him urging him to kick and finish. That's his fortay. That freaks oppos. I want to see all oppos Dangerflogged by Dusty.

Yeah spot on MR. It was actually great to see him ignore Ryan's lead in the closing stages yesterday and just slot it himself.

Wouldn't hold it against him to get a little bit more selfish Papley-CCameron-style for a few weeks, just to see how it plays out.

Definitely good seeing him attending more centre bounces rotating with Shai, he's able to have more of an impact there and touch the footy a bit more. We probably haven't seen him make those high impact kicks as yet where you sort of go "Gee, only Dusty would've been able to have the penetration and weight on the footy to make that perfect kick". Probably doesn't help when you don't have super smart forwards as yet make those repeat leads like Jack used to do.

I can definitely see his effort and heart there. You never used to see him really sprint and make a chase but now he's just so unselfish and just wants to win that you feel bad for him that we can't get him there. The explosiveness and strength just isn't there anymore.

how good ??!!??......Dusty goes into his first centre bounce in ages, grabs a hard ball get and peeks in one direction, so 9 guys bolt off in that direction..... and dusty says 'nup'....stooged...l'm gone.....

i'm gunna go the other way and get balanced and bang it deep in our 50.
9 one way dusty says nup.jpg

He’s playing within his limitations , he stops short of going on a real burst to take in the world like he used to and handballs more , still can be damaging for us , surprisingly he’s marking the ball better than ever , never been a noticeable strength

Really? I still remember all those one on one contests he has won or neutralised. His trademark is just shoving them off like a ragdoll and marking it.

wouldn't even trade him for 18 first rounders

If he got us that resale price he would be even more of a legend

Imagine giving us what he gave us and then giving us that return where we only had to see a lesser form of himself play in another clubs colours for a couple of seasons.

I would make his new team my second team

He still doesn’t have a left foot.

Doesn’t need a left foot when he has a precision GPS rocket guided right foot.

Not his fault his team mates can’t keep up with his greatness

Gale really understand players and importance of culture, it’s one of his strengths

lookit dat bbw piece salivating her mind sayin no richmond her ovaries sayin yes dusty

I remember at a game in 2007, when Richo took a series of critical marks down the line in the final quarter (and was cheered accordingly), a female Collingwood fan told us to “Have a wank over Richo!” 🤣🤣🤣
