Funnily enough his numbers have him in AA form and contention as a half forward. He keeps kicking snags he will 100% be in the conversation. The melts would be glorious even though i find the AA the most frivolous of awards

AA team is a joke. It is an honour not to get selected.

If you believe AA selectors then Cats have had 6 of the top 15 players in the AFL this century - which is absolutely laughable. Clangerfield, Duckwood, Matthew Recieverlett(Rance has a far superior record), Porkins(record not distinguishable from J Riewoldt's) and Boris whatshisname all in the top 15 AFL players this century apparently. :tearsofjoy:

How very dare you find me frivolous. At least send a comforting compliment before you no lube me for another pussies flog at years end.

Feel like last night wasn't dissimilar to his game v the Dees a few weeks ago. Felt like he was a couple of better finishes off winning us that game, he kicked 1.3 that night. Last night he kicks 4.1, including 3 in the last and plays a big part in us winning the game.

Having a really good year, loving seeing him back in at a few center bounces the last few weeks. Seems he still has plenty to offer in the middle.

I will never get tired of watching Dusty hand the handbaggers a new a-hole .....there are some things in life that are oh so sweet ....GLORIOUS !!!

looked on and up for it. Haven't seen that since all the shit he had to deal with.

those goals he kicked were CRUCIAL. last qtr to put us 30 up, if he misses cats go down and kick a goal as we have seen all too much before.

kept the scoreboard pressure on

and then sealed it finally in the end with 2.5 min to go 3 goals up, and knowing how we have choked leads that wasnt in the bag yet. he kept calm under pressure and put in a match winning performance

Points are the equivalent of Ya grandma's woolen undies in today's game.

I think he’s been building was very threatening last night and had Tom Stewart marking him for a couple of goals

This might be unpopular, but IMO it's seriously time for him to be back as a permanent midfielder. We threw him forward, assuming he wasn't needed more around the ball and with the luxury of some midfield additions, thought we could use him as another forward.

We simply are NOT that team that has that sort of luxury, especially given we are 17th! It's time we put him where he belongs the most as a damaging explosive on baller. He may not be 2017 standard, but he is still pretty dam good. He hasn't been getting as many touches simply because he's too far from the ball constantly. He is twice the player of any other midfielder we have with some confidence, we can use him more efficiently all over the ground.

It will allow Cumberland to do his thing up forward, with also Graham. Dusty can still rest up forward, however, Richmond really need their best player to be in the action.

Just bumping this!

Very impressed with how he played and loving his midfield minutes increasing. This needs to continue if we want any chance of success this year. He’s our best and most important player when given the chance. It’s great we acquired some important mids, but none are better than the GOAT. Get him in the thick of the action for majority of the match!

Dusty's impressive record against Bombers

Richmond star Dustin Martin has an excellent record against the Bombers.

By Sarah Black, AFL Media on May 19, 2022,

Richmond star Dustin Martin has an excellent record against the Bombers.

He's the only player to have won two Yiooken Awards for best-afield in the Dreamtime at the 'G game, but hasn't just reserved his best form to the annual Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash.

Martin averages 26.6 disposals and 1.3 goals from his 19 matches against Essendon.

He has a better goal ratio against four other sides (Adelaide, Brisbane, North Melbourne and West Coast), and averages more touches against three teams (Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Gold Coast), but no club sits higher on both average goals and disposals than the Bombers.

What have been Martin's best Bomber games to date?

ROUND 10, 2016
38 disposals, 10 marks, seven clearances, three Brownlow votes, Yiooken Award

While a year away from his Brownlow-winning season, Martin dominated against undermanned Essendon in its year of top-up players. The Tigers galloped away to a 38-point win as Martin recorded a then-career best 38 touches, with 21 to the main break as no Bomber was able to contain the superstar.

Round 10: Dusty's Dreamtime domination
A powerful second half sees Dustin Martin take home the Yioohen Award in the Dreamtime at the 'G clash.

ROUND 17, 2016
43 disposals, 22 contested possessions, 14 clearances, two goals, three Brownlow votes

The Bombers were gluttons for punishment when less than two months later, Martin turned in another best-on-ground performance. At this point of the season, Essendon's veteran top-up players were tiring, and Martin was simply on another level, sealing the 19-point victory with a set shot from 45m on the boundary.

ROUND 10, 2017
30 disposals, seven tackles, six clearances, one goal, three Brownlow votes, Yiooken Award

One of Martin's 11 three-vote games in his Brownlow year of 2017 came against Essendon. The Tigers broke their dispiriting three-game streak where all matches were lost in the final minutes with a 15-point triumph over the Bombers. Martin's seven tackles was a team high, while his major kickstarted the team's run of the last four goals of the game.

ROUND 22, 2018
26 disposals, 10 marks, six inside 50s, four goals, three Brownlow votes

Richmond had hit its scintillating top form in 2018, notching up its 20th straight win at the MCG with an eight-point win over the Bombers. Martin combined his dual role between the midfield and deep forward beautifully, with a team-high 26 disposals and game-high 10 marks.

ROUND 12, 2021
27 disposals, 10 contested possessions, three goals, two Brownlow votes

In the first Dreamtime in Perth match, the Bombers took the lead in the fourth after being 30 points adrift. Martin wasn't having any of that, kick-starting the Tigers' run with a 50m bomb on the run as the team coasted to a 39-point win. The superstar was also key to his side setting up the lead in the first place.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Round nine, 2015 – 25 disposals, seven marks, three clearances, one goal, one Brownlow vote
Round 11, 2018 – 28 disposals, seven clearances, five marks, one goal, two Brownlow votes
Round 10, 2019 – 35 disposals, seven marks, eight clearances, one Brownlow vote

Round 13, 2020 – 30 disposals, seven clearances, three marks, one goal, one Brownlow vote

The big fella's primed to add another trophy to his cabinet this week. Love beating these pri@ks, were so arrogant my whole childhood. From memory they beat us 20 odd games in a row during 80's and early 90's. Still remember Knighters goals and Scotty Turner knocking out O'Donnell like it was yesterday. Haven't really had a rivalry as both teams have rarely been up at the same time. Would love to humiliate the other Scott brother. Bet they were stroking each other off Mother's Day saying we're no good.

Could someone get on wankleys show and tell him to watch Hawkins in every marking contest
Maybe reference the push that resulted in soldo doing his knee
His incessant whinging over the dusty marking contest is as unedifying as it is pathetic

It’s a ploy. It didn’t even influence the result the game was dead s buried but he puts it on the agenda for next time. Absolute faux outrage
