he reminds me of edwards when he first started, instincts are good, sees options that most wouldn't, but fails to nail the pass consistently. we all know what happened with edwards, became one of the most creative and damaging players we've ever had.Jesus the bloke has played 18 games. He presented in great shape for pre-season. He is playing in the most dysfunctional and unstable forward line imaginable within his first 20 games at the level.
He will learn. It will get easier. He will eventually get a role that is suited to him. Then we will see how good he is or isn't. But his 1 wood is clearly his kicking either foot, something that will flourish as the team returns to normal competitiveness.
Agree with this. Dow has been starting to crack in and put hit on bigger players, just doesn’t seem natural for him that’s why he hesitates. Sonsie is more inclined to wait on the out side and get the hand pass, would like to see him play like his career depended on it. Look at Hugo, played in a similar fashion and now is one of the most improved players in the comp. There’s definitely a spot in the team for a player of his skill set, would wanna show something quick because there are players in the draft that will over take him.A lot of that is confidence i think.
The problem with him playing mid is that he cant play in there with Dow at the moment. Both are still too skinny and we would get demolished.
If Sonsie goes inside, Dow needs to go out but unfortunately Dow is a 1 trick pony.
Sonsie needs protection inside. He needs the ball to come out and then he has some tricks. He is very quick of mind and hand, but given no muscle or clearance work from experienced players, he has to play forward. You can't have any passengers on the ball right now. You could argue the same for Dow, but he at least cracks in and gets it because he is good at that, but would be better with some more muscle around him as well. MacAuliffe provided that for half a game, and all of a sudden our midfield looked better. Baker was great as well. Really hard to judge players in the sort of season we are having. Sonsie needs to keep playing, MacAuliffe will have Prestia beside him next week, who is starting to play a bit like the Prestia of old.Agree with this. we've been crying out for players who can use the ball on the outside, sonsie is that playerSonsie needs protection inside. He needs the ball to come out and then he has some tricks. Let's hope he retains his position when a few mid's start coming back soon.we've been crying out for players who can use the ball on the outside, sonsie is that player
hence My Tim Turnover post. We need creative ball users, dusty will be gone soon and there won't be many left.he reminds me of edwards when he first started, instincts are good, sees options that most wouldn't, but fails to nail the pass consistently. we all know what happened with edwards, became one of the most creative and damaging players we've ever had.
tyler just needs time. he isn't an inside beast but he could be incredibly damaging in a few seasons with some experience under his belt.
But he will be 28Dow's 22 years old. 182cm 76kgs
When we win our next flag. But he will be 28
I’ll be shocked if Sonsie is dropped. Yze been positive about the kid. We are harsh markers on here at times, he’s trying to play HFF role in a team decimated by injuriesHis spot is in danger . See who's rested besides Dusty. Pickett, LeFau injured & Vlas has been quiet. If Nank needs resting.
Prestia, Bolton, Tarranto look like huge boost to the forward line midfield, Baker and/or Graham will get squeezed forward.
Smith for Vlas?
Kosi and/or a MS draftee for LeFau
whos thatIm just going to put this here so people can see what happens with these players
