He got plenty of the ball but turned it over like 5 times. Still no signs off improving I rate hugo more than this dude. He’s getting a bit of ball , he needs to make some better decisions, twice when he had plenty of time under no pressure , picked a poor 1 v 2 option . I’d continue to play him unless there were better ideas , am praying he has a breakout game
“A clean and damaging player possessing the best two-sided kick in the draft pool, Sonsie is a stoppage specialist with slick hands and smarts who can also go forward and kick goals.”
Tyler Sonsie is a balanced midfielder able to win clearances in close, but also hurt the opposition on the outside with his clean and crisp skills. Proving he could match it against senior players with a 24 disposal and two goal game in his only VFL outing for Box Hill, he may be one of a few Victorian prospects to debut at AFL level next year. Likened by recruiters to Richmond champion Trent Cotchin, such a comparison is evident in his stoppage work; able to win first possession with quick anticipation and clean hands to set up midfield thrusts, but also every chance to go forward and kick goals on his right and left boot.
Absolutely. We are crying out for an outside midfielder. He should definitely be rotated through the middle.https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/tyler-sonsie/

Maybe we do need to put him in the midfield.
That's exactly what we've been doing to him.Only played the 21 games so far in his career. God I hope we don't Tim Taranto him and play him in a spot he just isnt suited for.
You're right. We'd find out much quicker if this midfielder was played in the midfield. However, he is trying to make a fist of playing on the half forward flank which he has never played before this year.with midfielders, you find out pretty quick if they're cut for the gig or not.

Expectations are insane on this guy and I have no idea why. If he uses the ball better yesterday he puts together a pretty decent game. Not many half forward flankers are finding it 16 times a game but sure maybe he should be getting midfield numbers in the forward line.
Spare me.
Lol
Did you not get enough of Dow in the midfield ? Sonsie, Dow, would be the worst midfield ever played in afl/vfl history.
This is the afl yeah? Not the dvfl. The coach has to make assemble a competitive team. Walsh, cripps vs. Dow and sonsie and Blight Miller end up with 15 kicked against them and we don't discover him.
Cannot sacrifice the team to cater to sonsie.
