Yeah I thought I had heard something like that, but he's not soft is he? So is it a lack of desire, or a lack of size as he's not that small?
Not soft, just has an underdeveloped inside game due to a slight frame and coaches' preferences to utilise his strengths on the outside.

Was listed as 73kg in his draft year.

Whilst Brown's season has been interrupted this year and he has not had the exposure the others have had he will become a very very good player for Richmond.

As others have mentioned similarities to Tom Stewart
Geelong , Brisbane ,Sydney were all extremely disappointing when richmond called his name out

Yep - watching him play he could easily be the best of the bunch (except Gibcus). Does really good things.

Tom Brown was, and is the one I'm least enthused about so far.

Obviously ridiculously early so no concerns at this stage of his career, but in terms of player type, still think there were options that maybe suited us better at that pick.

Everyone else though is tracking awesome so far in relation to where they were picked. def showed some good
Brown --gibcus-- banks
Our centre half back line for next 12 years
Add balta to the mix

Yeah agree. Hard to see how Brown gets a look in for a regular spot in the next few years with our backline pretty relatively young to other areas of the team and so entrenched. Obviously they thought he was the best talent but would've taken another mid.

But all the others look great thus far.
Might be a spot opened up next year if the Broad rumour is true.

I wouldn’t be using Tom Stewart as a comparison for Tom Brown personally.

He is very much in your Bailey Dale type player. Will never get to the size of a Tom Stewart.

Stewart is 190cm
Dale 187cm
Brown 186cm (as a draftee)

not too sure 3 - 4 cm really makes that much difference to their playing style or football ability

Firstly footballing ability wasn’t mentioned.
Secondly 4cm and 5-10kg is a big difference in a players style. Brown is clearly never going to get to Stewart’s size and most likely will never play on a key position forward for an extended period. Stewart often plays KP, Dale rarely plays on a big aswell.

I haven't heard much about his inside game, but apparently he's pretty tough sooo???

When we drafted him the word was that he had previously played some inside very well (as a skinny 14-15 year old kid) and the 2021 plan was for him to move into that midfield role - but injuries and COVID.

SO we have no reason to believe he can do it to a high standard. But, we also know he wanted to play that role and did when younger.

You can dream.

Stewart plays on someone? Anyone? Hmm, yet to see it myself😂

5-0 kgs will be gained in 2 years and we are not talking about right now but more the finished product
Brown turns 19 in july and a very good chance by the start of the 2023 season he would have possibly grown 1-2cm and added 5-kgs to his frame

Its his style of play with reading the ball , his marking and decission making that likens him to Tom stewart

Yeah I dont know where these Stewart comparisons are coming from, they are literally nothing alike.

The similarities stop at being backmen

Looks older than 9... And how did we get around the drafting rules ;)

Stewart and Brown are very similar. Both great interceptors, good in the air and very capable one on one. He is the best comparison going

Stewart plays on KPF types regularly, Brown is a flanker

LOL - Tom Stewart is 190cm and Brown is 188cm.

2cm is not the same as 2inches!
