Love this kid.
The 55 meter set shot bomb of a goal from the boundary was right in front of me. It was special not only because it showed how much confidence & skill this guy has, but it highlighted the lack of confidence Mason still has. Only moments earlier he didnt back himself in & have a shot from almost exactly the same position. He sprayed a pass & turned it over. Hope he was watching all his teammates get around Cam Z after his goal.
Was just about to mention that. Was up in the whitten bar with a mate, when Mase marked it I said "watch him try to pass this off" lo and behold..

When z got it, mate asked me if he would also try to center it
"Nah cams too cocky for all that he'll take the shot"

Funny how confidence in ones abilities can be the difference splitting a rookie pickup and a highly rated draftee

Suckling was happy to kick from a similar spot further out as well.

Mason needs to go to the backline for his own mental health. He’ll end up like Lindsay if it keeps going.

Yeah, I was really cheesed off by Wood when he screwed that up. However, my level of “cheesed off-ness” were well and truly overwhelmed by the good things Mason did throughout the game.

I was a lot later jumping on his bandwagon (the Zurhaar ... err ... Zeppelin?) than almost everyone else. I just thought he was a pressure player that didn't offer much else.

Well, haven't I felt the fool recently. I totally get it after the last month or so.

He is a little faster than I thought, his chase down and tackle in third (or fourth) quarter was a sensational piece of play.
