The President is facing two obstacles to re-election; the pandemic and Joe Biden. He’s given up on fighting the former, hoping that if he pretends it isn’t a problem the voters won’t notice its existence. He also lacks a clear plan for beating Biden, believing anyone questioning his genius should be locked up.

Planning is not Trump’s forte. He would rather go with his ‘gut feel’ than immersing himself in the data - becoming cognisant with the underlying factors and options for correction. He is a lazy, ignorant prick.

Well it is a massively large Gut. I think we can understand how it dominates him.

I mean after 4 or 5 dozen hash browns for breaky & the 300 'hamberders' for lunch, it'd start to ruminate & take over Donny's tiny brain.

It has to plan for his dinner after all. ;)

The Stahl interview highlighted the President's two most distinct character traits; he is weak and afraid like many bullies are, and he is fundamentally a liar. He is too lazy, or not smart enough, to do the work or understand the subjects so he just makes it up.
Tell me something I don't know!

(Trouble is, 40,000,000 Americans definitely don't know that.)

The ‘low information’ voters that rely on right wing radio and Fox luminaries.

Political discourse become shriller, with the advent of shock jocks like Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. Trump’s self perception and reality has never remotely aligned - it become apparent that he is not ‘Robinson Crusoe’ amongst moderately educated, white males. Steve Bannon played on this shared sense of personal and national victimhood - Make America White Again re-emerged.

Trump’s politics of grievance, and the fist-shaking anger it fed off, has struck a starkly different tone than Obama’s positive pitch aimed at our ‘better selves’.

More fake news from the New York Times.

The party of Lincoln did not have a good run before Trump.

Nixon's bombing of Laos and Cambodia. Reagan's bemused indifference to AIDS. Bush's wars leaving over a million people dead.

There wasn't some noble Republican Party just a few years ago. For the living memory of any of us under 100 years old, it's been one of the greatest forces for evil and misery in the world. Its 1860 platform reads more like one dealing with modern society than its 1988 platform. Trump didn't cause this, he's just another station on the journey. To treat him as an anomaly is to miss the point, and to think the party is on the verge of dying (as everyone said it was in 2008, before it promptly took over again) is to learn nothing from the Democrats' repeated failure in defeating an increasingly fringe group of corporate interests and archaic conservative values.

Why share it here if you think it's fake news?

It's not even news. It is an Opinion piece from the editors of the NYT.

Opinion

R.I.P., G.O.P.
The Party of Lincoln had a good run. Then came Mr. Trump.

Don Jr is talking about running in 2024 and had this to say:

“I definitely like being out there and I love being able to see the impact and the difference that it makes on these people’s lives that I get to see all over the country,” he said.

My question is, is he really wants to help people, make a difference etc, why hasn’t he run for Congress or senate? It’s all about the big show with them.

You’ve been invited to a swingers party with Eric and Lara.

Have fun, make sure you double bag.

Im triple bagging, just like the Irish do, to be sure to be sure to be sure.

That look on Lesley Stahl’s face when she opens and looks at what she’s been told is Donald Trumps Health Plan. Priceless.
Trump's Health Care Plan:

"I have health care".

Pres Trump extolling the virtues of his ‘get the damn n*****s back on the plantation’ policy: “You like having a project next to your house? I don’t think so.”

Meanwhile Jared Kushner* weighs in on the ‘black - white income disparity’.

If you're poor - clearly it’s a black culture thing - you are too lazy to succeed.

Abe Lincoln would be proud!

*Yep, the Jared who has a position in the White House solely due to marriage, without one single objective qualification and couldn’t even pass the security screening.

Believe it or not this will resonate with a minority of black voters that aren't rusted on dems. Particularly males. There is an element withing this group which agree to this line of thinking.

Many month ago, I would post this list and profess amazement at how Coronavirus was climbing up the charts

and I was constantly shocked at how it passed all the hyphen wars

now i look at this - it's #3 and only getting bigger

Also, it seems everything is bigger in Texas

He's given up, simple as that. Covid is in the too hard basket alongside healthcare.

He's counting on the fact that 38% of Americans believe that the death rate of the virus has been “deliberately and greatly exaggerated”.

No coincidence that this percentage more or less corresponds to his base support.

It means he no longer has to talk to them about the virus.
