Yeah I pick my mark with people. I have friends and family who are pro trump, one who used to be until Jan 6.

My biggest beef of all with trump is the anti democracy stuff. If that wasn’t happening and he just wanted to implement stuff I didn’t like, I wouldn’t see him as an existential threat. Of course I wouldn’t want him elected but if he wasn’t stoking the rhetoric of stolen elections and setting the scene for doing it again the world would be a lot more civil place.

But if he did that he wouldn’t be trump and would probably lose his appeal many of his supporters.
I like what he’s doing a little , because he’s representing the working class old left base and some of the less neo con right. I think corporate America took its manufacturing away progressively and made it harder for small business until many people formerly doin these jobs are under employed, un heard, and un represented. These were descisions made by big business not things these people chose for themselves. Trump may have demagogue tendencies using this angry wave of previously un represented middle America to gain power, but as a populist he’s beholden to these people as much as Elon or Thiel. He will have too many haters if his popular base feels unsatisfied

Costello was a good treasurer but Howard was a nasty little slimeball imo , very polarising. I’d never vote for him in fact I think I’ve always voted labor before lib
Well I was very conservative, from a very safe regional Liberal seat (one of the safest still).

I'd have voted for Bush over Kerry, McCain over Obama (before my political change). But I don't think I'd ever have favoured Trump over anyone, nor would (still) conservative members of my family who would rate Howard as A-tier.

I’m weirdly opposite. I’d have voted for Kerry and Obama .

Well as I said, I've changed politically (and religiously) a lot.

But with your prior post, if you think Trump is the better candidate on manufacturing and the working class, I think you're mistaken. He's beholden to those voters only if they are well informed.

This is where Joe Rogan not being his biggest fan comes into play. Lex Friedman and other backers too have massive listenerships and power too.

I think he is the best shot at avoiding an all out World War 3

His presidency saw fewer global conflicts/ flashpoints, and to some degree I think his unpredictability made leaders like Putin, Xi, and Kim think twice.

Israel-Iran situation: while tensions flared occasionally under Trump, things stayed relatively stable compared to now, where the current administration seems focused on sending more weapons, and helping commit genocide. Trump’s already said he’d set a deadline for Israel to end the conflict if he’s elected.

Then there’s Russia and Ukraine. Sure, ending it in 24 hours isn’t realistic, but Trump seems like he could at least get us closer to an end, whereas now we have North Korea getting involved… seems to me we’re heading toward a third world war.

I don’t think they should have to, but Ukraine would likely have to give up some territory for peace given how long it has dragged out. Again though, the current administration just keeps sending weapons.

It’s no secret that the US leads NATO, they were guaranteeing Ukraine would join the alliance in the years leading to the war’s beginning.

As for Biden, his decline has been pretty obvious, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Kamala’s been calling the shots behind the scenes.

Posters here are very quick to dismiss Trump based on some of the things he says and his actions, but Biden’s done some strange things too that have been caught on camera..

Again, I don’t love Trump. I don’t hate him either. But you’ve asked my thoughts as to why I think he’s the better choice given how things are around the world right now.
I can't see how he would be better for foreign affairs, tearing up the Iran nuclear deal, moving the embassy to Jerusalem, abraham accords etc. were all moves which destabilized things in the middle east and set the scene for October 7. His plan to "finish the job" doesn't sound very anti-war to me. Also he is ready to do a quid pro quo which will allow Israel to take the West Bank.

Trump's idea of just giving Russia what they want doesn't seem like a great idea either. Also Russia had been creeping into other former Soviet territories for years and Putin essentially wants to get the band back together. There is no chance NATO would ever attack Russia and Putin knew that, so Putin claiming it as defensive action is BS.

Biden should of announced he was going to be a one term president long ago, no argument there. I don't think Harris will differ too much with him on foreign policy, though I don't think she is a rusted on zionist like Joe, so I at least have some hope. With Trump I have zilch and he will give everything Israel want plus more without the little guardrails which may exist now.

I tend to dismiss Trump, on yes, what he says and does, which seem to be fairly legitimate reasons to judge someone on what your own eyes and ears are showing and telling you. I think he will continue to erode democracy (he will try that even if he loses), and with the US standing in the world it is like poisoning the well worldwide. They may be a flawed democracy now, but there are many levels to the depths of hell you can go to getting to authoritarianism/fascism.

There are so many other things which would be dangerous with a 2nd Trump term (with his enablers as well), but I won't expand on them here.

I hope if he gets in what you say is true, as obviously I want what is best for the world, not the worst. As REM once sang, I want to be wrong.

Hes representing them with vibes, nothing actually tangible. Sure it is a failure of the dems these people feel helpless so throw a hail mary at crazy orange man thinking why the **** not.

However, the Biden admin actually did a lot of good things for workers, https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuart...r-biden-and-immigrants-did-not-get-most-jobs/

As you can see Biden admin created way more jobs than Trump's, even with covid factored in (as the article goes in to detail of).

Former President and former (possibly current) sex pest Bill Clinton said correctly at the DNC since the cold war ended dems have created 50 million jobs for the economy and 1 million for the republicans. Now if we want to be somewhat fair 16 million were created in the Reagan era, but that is still a very large descepancy.

So basically the dems should be doing a lot more for the working class, but Trump did nothing in his first term except give a massive tax cut to the top few percent, and he has the same plan for his next term.

Any how that’s just one thing I’m sure if you’re ganged up 5-1 in a debate trying to answer as many things as you can you wouldn’t have time to vet everything either

Just go with facts and no-one will gang up on you. Keep pushing lies and there will be negative feedback, so don't be surprised and sooky when it comes.

If trump can be the host rfk can be the moral compass and Vance and Elon get things done, that’s actually a team with a range of strengths.

I see you've dropped Thiel, LOL. It was so easy for people to point out how putrid he is, and you had no response. It's almost as if you didn't know anything about Thiel and were simply parroting a MAGA list.

Why is Stephen Miller left out of this circle of smart diverse voices in Trumps ear? Or Steve Bannon? Its a broad church!

Ehh it could be a range of reasons including medical

He may have thought the door was open for him. The wet ground may have contributed - making a shorter step to not slip over

Depth perception could be out of whack .

Could also be staged to make people forget about the rally

Ive done it a few times - because there are moves you make to swing up into a truck - especially being as hefty as me or Donny and with creaking bones your brain starts calculating and then you miss the handle and everything is still going

Still funny though
