* Thread monitored actively. User who drag it down will be removed

Specifically: reference to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and its counterpart 'Trumpanzee' or anything similar will no longer be allowed.

Personal attacks are also to be kept to a minimum.

Just a reminder, even if it hasn't come up for a few pages and y'all should know this stuff by now:

This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

Do not post conspiracy theories on this forum. We have an entire other forum for that.

Thanks all.

Congrats Royces Hart on the new thread title!

Not really. Anti-discrimination laws prevent arbitrary refusal to serve people based on gender, ethnicity, religious or political affiliation, etc, albeit with a few carve outs. But businesses are allowed to set behavioural expectations that customers are expected to adhere to.
Sexual orientation?

So a draft dodger is about to strip a star from 4 star general Mike Tilley - purely as a personal vendetta

This is going to be a long 4 years. At least we will be able to holiday in a beach front Trump resort in Gaza by the end of it :drunk:
Common belief is that the only reason he didn't do more of this destructive stuff last time was that he didn't expect to win and had no plan to bring in his own people.

That vacuum was filled by the fashy Project 2025 mob this time around.

Yep, the price of eggs is still Biden's fault.

I heard a good interview where someone was saying that there's a dynamic change in the relationships between journos and politicians/elites.

The elites hate that they are answerable to journos so now they just parrot the same lies over and over, and punish the outlets that don't tow the line.

They're creating an environment where their messaging is seen as factual and the news shows are "fake news" and "very nasty people" etc and they expect the journos to not chanllenge them on anything.

Very scary times.

It’s likely he didn’t understand the level or nature of his support. That’s not just about winning (in 2016). It’s also the level of fanaticism amongst a chunk of those who voted for him. That fanaticism has developed over the last nine years.

He wouldn’t be able to get away with much of what he is doing if he didn’t have just over half the House and Senate terrified at the chance of being challenged in a primary (and possibly scared of harassment or violence) if they don’t do his bidding.
