3pm today. No idea if we're taking anyone. We have 2 spots left on our rookie list if we want

We have 40 on our list at the moment and one is a Cat B Rookie. So somewhere along the line you would think we have at least 4 spots to fill yet. Those need to come from the rookie draft, the SSP and the MSD. So you would think maybe 2 rookie draft picks, 1 or 2 SSP’s and if only one then a spot left open for the MSD.

You would have to think Tylar Young from our VFL list is a decent chance to be picked up in the rookie draft if we haven’t got another tall option in mind. Maybe also a small forward?

Looks like you're correct. Should mean we take at least 1 or 2 today 👍

Who is the key position defender from Port Melbourne 🤔, seems a very likely type

I’ve got a theory with this height thing… there are a lot more people at 180cm than 190cm. Therefore, a greater talent pool to choose from in regards to late picks. We put all our time into average sized players at later picks because bigger players will be scouted thoroughly so it is unlikely we’ll be the ones that find a decent one later in the drafts.
I think being between 180-190cm gives the player more flexibility in the position they can be developed/play in. With a tall 194-198 player it's either tall defender or tall forward and that is it.

So with a late pick and with likely deficiencies to work on, the player can be developed in another position if a certain position is not their strength.

Apparently we had him as a top 20 talent on our draft board, can't believe he slid to pick [47], great young fella, tough as nails, thrilled to be coming to Richmond.
My cousin's mate knows someone who went to school with him, is apparently a top bloke and absolute jet on the field. We're onto a winner here!!
