Q - don't know too much about a few of the names, but how does Moss fit into things? won 3 straight B&Fs (and a Brownlow) at Essendon then continued on with another 4 or 5 when he went back? Don't know if he won a Sandover or not

Also was the reigning Brownlow medallist when he came back to CAPTAIN/coach Claremont in the WAFL against some very good players.
Other players in that team were the Krakouers and Dalton Gooding (the now tainted boss of Wet Toast when some of them were gangsters).

Billy Duckworth no more than a GOP. Unless you follow Essendon I doubt you would have him in your top WA 50.

was that necessary?

anyways i think the list is a joke. to have TI at 12 and McKenna even lower shows the Sunday Times clearly has no clue.

He was good enough to win the Norm Smith medal in 1984.

Paul Dear was good enough to win it in 1991 and he was shit, what's your point? ;)

Re. Worsfold - great leader, quality player but not an all time top 50 player.

Bluey McKenna much higher, same for Rioli too, Nicky Winmar a confusing omission - and WA has produced enough quality to leave the likes of Chris 'Just Visiting' Judd and Matty Pavlich off the list.

Well, that's what he'll go down in AFL history as. It certainly won't be for being in the Top 50 WA footy players.
Gooding was a great wingman back in the day, played in Claremont's '81 premiership team with some outstanding footballers.

For mine, no spot for Jim Krakouer, Peter Bosustow or Derek Kickett is a disgrace. TI should be top 10, but let's not dwell on the value of awards or dual Sandover medallist Phil Kelly will warrant a mention.

It's strange how highly some of the Eagles rated while others who are arguably every bit as good/effective (e.g. McIntosh, Lewis) don't make it at all.

Judd and Pavlich detract severely from the lists credibility.

Never said he wasn't, but never in a million years in the top 50.
Never, ever, ever, ever !!!!
Top 500, possible, more likely Top 5000.
Yeah, I wasn't arguing for his admission to the Top 50, just pointing out that he was a very good player in his day. You had to be to get a game at Claremont in 1981!

What a joke of a list! Considering that Judd is third and many of the Weagles stars of the 90s are missing, the journos must have smoked some choof. Maybe Garry Lyon has a cousin WA and that's why he is so high.
