I need help with this moneybookers/poli thing.

I deposited yesterday using the sportingbet website. Then it took me to the moneybookers website which gave me some bank details to deposit money into (BSB account number, name etc).

So I did that using netbank (commonwealth). Supposedly it's meant to be instant transaction, but just wondering, if I havn't got money in my moneybookers account, and I had to transfer money from my bank account into my moneybookers account (like I had to), how can this possibly be instant? The only way that could happen is if moneybookers covered me first and then my deposit covered that, but I highly doubt they would do that.

That makes it essentially like paypal. You transfer money into your account via bank deposit and then use paypal to pay. I know with paypal it takes a couple of days for the money to show up.

Can somebody explain how moneybookers/poli works?

this may be wrong as i usually only have used poli by itself (sportsbet/luxbet) and that is always instant, it automatically takes you through your bank site and the money should instantly appear.. ive used moneybookers once about a year ago on bet365, i had to deposit money onto moneybookers via poli, im 99% sure it happend immedietly, you should then do the deposit method on sportingbet and it should let you deposit the money you just put into your moneybookers account, and then appear instantly on your sportingbet account

Im not sure what you mean with the paypal takes a couple days?
all you have to do is link your bank card to paypal and anything you pay with via paypal is instantly taken from your bank account

with paypal, if you take money from your bank account (not though a card), it takes 2-3 business days for the transaction to occur.

how are poli and moneybookers associated, because I have a feeling I did not use poli at all.

here is what I did:
sportingbet.com.au -> my account -> deposit -> moneybookers -> then in the deposit new funds box I put 1000.

Then it takes me to moneybookers.com and asks me to log into my account/create an account.

So while poli may be instant, moneybookers is not. That's what I'm guessing. Appreciate it if somebody can clarify

So basically you have to spend what you've put in plus their bonus.
They don't give u alotted time to spend it do they.

The way i see it is i can spend the amount alotted but if i keep profiting each time up until the amount is up than thats all good yeah

AFIK moneybookers is not poli, they are 2 separate companies, and for this promo they had it was only 3 methods that were accepted and moneybookers wasn't one of them.
Moneybookers is instant. Assuming you have funds in there in the first place, if you do, the money will appear instantly at the bookie.
if anyone's interested in joining moneybookers pm for referral ;) as imo it is the best ewallet out there for betting purposes.

then in reality, it is no different to paypal (which is instant as well, provided you can fund from a CC or already have funds in your account). Obviously I wasn't funding from a CC, because I would have just gone directly through the cc had I wanted to use a cc. In the end I did fund from a CC (as last resort, prefer to use bank deposit as personal preference).

Ended up finally finding out the bank deposit method takes 2-5 business days, as does paypal.

thanks for the reply anyhow.

If I deposited using Poli how do I withdraw? I know when I deposited with Paypal I had to withdraw through Paypal but I take it you can't withdraw through Poli.

And for those of you wanting to turn it over without risk if your quick you can put half on cavs +4 and the other half on raptors -4 with both paying $2 as there was a slight mix up on the cavs line.

not sure about that, but I don't see why you can't withdraw with paypal.
what about withdrawing to your bank account, why don't you do that?

What that basketball tip though, what happens if final score is for example toronto 88 cavs 84, then neither will bet will win. Because its not a half point line e.g. +/- 4.5 you can lose both bets if the raptors win by 4.

Managed to find another good one too.
trawled betfair for a while and found an ice hockey market. total goals +-5.5

betfair was paying 2.12 for under 5.5, and sportingbet was paying 1.95 for over 5.5. Made sure I triple checked everything, and did a bit of math. End up turning over another $70 there.

Nah a 4 point win would be the best result. If it was you get both bets refunded so do not lose any money but still turn your funds over.

deposited $500 to get the $250 bonus.

Had a bad day @ Flemington + fuelled by alcohol so in a moment of stupidity i decided to plunge it all on Arsenal hd to hd against West Ham:eek:

Most frustrating and nerve-racking match of my life...I think Arsenal had hit the post twice and the West Ham goalkeeper was pulling all sorts of amazing saves..

I don't think i'll ever bet on soccer again in my life!!!

Anyways, time to withdraw:thumbsu:

I've never used PayPal for Sportingbet before, but in using it on other sites it was always an "instant payment option" then...

I doubt it's at all like Bpay.

Hey guys - just a general sportingbet question - if you deposit via PayPal do the funds go into your account immediately?

Or do you have to wait a couple of days ala B-pay?

Depends how you fund your paypal account.
If you use a CC it will be instant, if you use a bank account it won't be.

Same will go for moneybookers, as I found out.

my bank card is linked with paypal and my deposit is instant?

what type of card is that? is that one of those debit mastercards?

It's a bit weird, from personal experience:
when I pay for something on ebay with paypal, it will take out the money from my bank account instantly.

but then when i'm not doing an ebay transaction, and wish to take out money from my bank account to put in my paypal account, it takes 3+ business days....

soooo.... how is everyone going to spend their $1500???

im thinking all in: so you think into australia def sri lanka

odds about $2.5

will be collecting my free money in a few hours time...

probably wont be able to get the cash until wednesday-ish?

which means i'll probably back SYT heavily for the cup...

Why would someone who had 70K on So You Think the other week worry about withdrawing that little?

How could someone call having 4K on SYT "backing it heavily" when they had 70K on it the other week?

Someone stop this loser from posting, it actually hurts to read.
