North have been pretty proactive with the soft tissue stuff in the past 12 -18 months . They even bought out Chelsea FC ex physio from Ireland earlier this month whose meant to be one of the best hamstring physios in the world . Hopefully for George these reoccurrences decrease over the next few seasons once his strength and conditioning improves .

Listen, George’s hamstrings worry me as much as the next person, but it’s far from ‘abort mission’ areas.

Cyril was doing hamstrings for fun at a point in time, those freak athletic/explosive builds unfortunately are a touch more susceptible. Time will tell but they’ll have a plan to get him right.

More to the point, Brisbane won a flag with like 3/4 best 22 players doing ACLs. If our midfield is a disaster for now AND the future because of no George, then I am afraid we are cooked regardless.

One way to look at it is poor old Will Phillips has had a much worse run with continuity in his career so far. Covid into Glandular is a nightmare and then you add the lack of opportunity in there. Who knows, this might be his moment! It’s not all doom and gloom. It’s still bloody January!

Yeah, chronic hamstring injuries have never cut short anyone’s career before….
I'm sure it's happened. But so does getting struck by lightning while in the sack.

Last count, 13,000 or so men have played at the highest level in the last 130 years, how many have had their careers wrecked by chronic hamstring problems?

Not many, I'm betting.

Trelour was another that missed a lot of football early due to dogey hammies.

He has played 23, 19, 22 games in the last 3 seasons.
