This is not a bad thing to happen to the club, this is a good thing. We are better off with out him and what we get will be much more beneficial to us in the long run.

Keeping him would be silly, will get the most profit from him this year, he will only decrease in value next year when not contracted.

The Roos felt Horne-Francis lacked the required professionalism they believed a No.1 pick would deliver and eventually stood him down for an AFL game after he missed an ice bath post-match.

They felt they could have dropped him for a similar type of incident most weeks given he did not appear to grasp the dedication needed to be an AFL star.

Absolutely pathetic!

In turn, he felt a lack of support from the Roos in regard to their messaging over the constant media speculation about his future and even leaks about his contract and progress.

Gutted with the decision from Jason.

At some point - I hope the club takes a step back; and reflects on what it could have done better to keep JHF, and ensures that we don't make the same mistakes. To point it only on a poor decision from him is too myopic. We need to figure out what went wrong (the Adelaide trip, the support in the media etc), and ensure when we draft a kid like Busslinger from WA with Pick 8 - the same issues don't arise again.
