Port won't be happy. They're supposed to get Horne-Francis without giving up any players that they like.

but they would be the only ones in the chase if he nominates them in 12 months, which is likely

I'm also not convinced 2 and another 2nd, say, is massive unders either for a guy who simply doesn't want to be here, no matter how talented

The fact that you keep getting likes from the Port flog demonstrates that your view is exactly what they're hoping we think.

I can live with a possible loss of value if it avoids us bending over this year. Anyway, there's just no basis for saying they will be the only ones chasing him in a year. It's simply not plausible. Depending upon what pans out, they might be one of 15 odd clubs who make an offer.

And we shouldn't be setting his value on him not wanting to be here, set his value on them trying to poach him from us. If they don't pay up, then bad luck son, you're with us for another year.

You know I was a bit perplexed during the year how much the media was drumming up the potential he was a flight risk back home - I couldn’t remember another #1 pick where the media went on about it relentlessly like they have all year

Makes a bit more sense now with the media doing Ports PR work for them #kochfactor

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if his Manager that dick from Big Brother was leaking shit to turn it into a circus to give them the ammo to request a trade.

Funny how Fabian Francis was offered a spot by Dockers when they didn't have salary cap space.
And JHF now offered a spot by Port who haven't got the draft capital to get him.
Very amusing.
I hear Fabian also received a brand new MG car...

I've said in the main board thread that Melbourne got two first rounders as compo for Scully leaving. One first rounder straight after their first (pick 2 in our scenario) and another mid first rounder.

That is the absolute minimum value we're talking.

Then you add a premium for:
  • JHF being contracted
  • Quite frankly being better than Scully
  • His marketing value
  • Port's piss poor conduct
"It was announced on 12 September 2011 that he would be moving to the play for the Giants on a six-year contract valued at an estimated total value of $6 million"

JHF isn't getting offered 6M over 6 years. And that 6M for Scully was 10 years ago, so with inflation would be the equivalent of 8M today. On that number alone - market value - you can argue that JHF is not better than Scully

We get it, Port fans... You think Jasey is a great guy, just misunderstood. You think that every suggested offer is too much to give up for him. You think that North have no leverage and need to just accept that he is going for what Port is willing to offer.

Do we really need another 100 posts from Port fans in this thread repeating the sentiments above?

Go back to the Port board and whine about how mean we are and the bad things that we say about your new favourite player.

surprise afl GIF

Port trying to get JHF and Rioli for pick 8 and future 1st and North and Eagles knocking it back

and if he just nominated port again next year with the threat of PSD? we'd get less tbh, especially after another year of sulking
Mate port would have to finish bottom for him to go there via psd and if that’s the case Ken Hinkley is gone and they’ll be in more disarray.

Hold. His value won’t diminish

I have heard the SA police have endorsed this move, crime stats have declined since JHF made the he call to seek a trade.

Too busy invading the North Board instead of homes.

I wouldn't be happy with us getting just pick 2 and a player way down on their list. He was valued last year much more than that, and he hasn't lost his talent or ability in the space of 12 months.

Oi!

No.

That's worse than what's been offered already.

If they can managed to get Pick 2 and put up a player of the quality of Sinn or Bergman, you pull the trigger. Even if they involve St Kilda to get a player to go there that releases Clark to us.

While they are scrambling around clubs should be getting into their players and seeing who they might shake loose?

We were offered multiple first round picks for him last year. Why should we settle for less than that now? His value hasn't dropped, he's still the same player, and injury free.
