i just can't stand when he stands still, points to the pocket/ flank and then doesn't start moving till he identifies that the ball is coming in his direction. By the time this occurs, the defender is just as aware where the ball is heading as Joe is. It's a defenders wet dream.

You're comparing Nick Riewoldt - an absolute champion Hall of Fame CHF - to Joe Daniher who has played about 50 games and has 3 defenders hanging off him half the time. Totally unfair.
Similar start in careers, bottom team. Prob unfair over last 4 yrs but Riewoldt was stamping his name by racking up marks early on n by hard running. Just think he should be watching riewoldt to see how he impacts games. That's his best way to remove the double triple teaming. Melbourne game was Riewoldt like, past few games he thinks he is Hawkins/Cloke. Cloke Riewoldt n joey are all terrible kicks so that's not the issue on how to make a presence.

Forgive me if I am wrong, and I dont have any data to back this up but i am thinking that most of his misses this year are to the right? If this is correct he has a natural hook going on. And if this is happening over and over it is consistant and a repeating action which is a good thing. Aim a tad further to left Joey!

I don't know the stat but that seems correct. He needs a golf pro to coach him ball movement if he kicks to the right of target it will push right, if the ball is still angled to the target it will draw back to the target, if ball drop is will it will be a mongrel. If he's right side of goals, foot goes to left post while ball is at target n will fade left to right. Watch buddy, he kicks the big draw. Hawkins on most occasions kicks the fade n it's the line of their leg. This is basic knowledge to golf n is oblivious in football. People complain about goal kicking n this is the answer.

But to help your question Daniher kicks to the right n that's the reason he misses right, especially inside 30

It seems he wants the ball on his head n out mark those around him, that's there strengths not joey. Can't blame the kicks to him, he's demanding that
I don't think it's as simple as absolving those kicking to him of all responsibility and just saying "demz the breaks".

He's got a lot to work on, but some of the kicking to him yesterday was terrible.

I don't see too much of an issue with joey. Obviously his set shot is inconsistent, and can get pushed out of the contest easily but come on, he just turned 22. Let that sink in for a sec. Now think of all the spectacular things he has done already. Too much expectation and criticism for a young bloke who bleeds playing for this footy club.

Once his legs fill out and can hold his own, with the added experience of getting his goal kicking routine down pat, I see nothing which suggests that he won't become one of the most dominant roaming CHF of the competition.

He's certainly a bit 'off' at the moment.

Got himself in to position a number of times yesterday to clunk the ball and spilled some marks that a player of his talent really should be taking.

It'll come, no doubt. But he's definitely been average for a few weeks.

Rubbish. delivery was fine yesterday were you even at the game, Joe missed numerous chest and easy overhead marks when he marked it he sprayed the shot ..his confidence is shot needs a decent spell in the vfl, needs to learn to ball drop correctly and kick straight.
Joe is going fine. Delivery to him has been horrible.

Several kicks sailed straight over his head. Well over.

Delivery to him was not that good.
I think we should form a ring around him and make him fight every player on the list. Character building.
Took jesse Hogan 1 year to learn to mark and kick straight, Joe has been in the system 5 years and we are still making excuses for him, Terry, Neale and Anthony Daniher were excellent kicks get around him Daniher clan teach him how to kick for goal ffs a basic skill for a forward!

Because he continually ran under the ball lol for the overhead marks and ball bounced of his chest for the regulation chest marks..which game were you at ..please look at the replay . I counted 10 such cases at least.

I watched the game. I am comfortable in my assertion that in some instances (not all, but some) the delivery to him was awful.

Very easy to say he ran under it, but some were way off the mark; so much so that you cannot blame him.

I agree his delivery is shit. But I've seen some worrying signs. Even things like misjudging the flight of a high ball.

I suppose it was pretty shocking conditions. Losing faith here.

Help me father, help me!
