Harry Cunningham

Player Profile

Harry Cunningham is one of the quickest players at the Sydney Swans, is clean by hand and foot and can play in defence, on a wing and in the forward line. The 2012 draftee was in blistering form over the opening seven rounds of the 2019 campaign, before injury limited him to just two games over the remainder of the season, so expect him to be hungry for a comeback 2020 year. Draft history: 2012 Rookie Draft selection (Sydney) No. 93; 2012 AFL Draft rookie elevation (Sydney) selection No. 107

Harry Cunningham

DOB: 06 December 1993
DEBUT: 2012
DRAFT: 2012
RECRUITED FROM: Turvey Park (NSW)/NSW-ACT U18/Wagga (NSW)

Craig Bird is someone who has impressed me from day one, I think he would be a lot better of a player if it wasn't for that year he more or less sat out due to foot problems.

It also impacted the seasons on either side of it due to limited training/work outs. Thankfully they now have a regime that works for him and lets him get the most out of it whilst still managing it.

I rate him.

Tizzay7 started a thread bagging Eugine that included pumping Cunningham up, now in the Cunningham thread putting Bird down.. My Spidey senses feel a link.

I've often wondered if players post here. Cunningham is that really you ?

For sure Reidfactor is Jesse White.

Ahoy there Ahab!
Even in young Cunningham's thread, you throng for the JESSELENKO:diamond:...

If you see a White one, split your lungs for him.

We'll see what fight the Great White Whale has in him today. For should he tire a hundred harpoons are freshly sharpened for the kill

Was good when he came back from being dropped. Was very dynamic in the half he played against the Saints.

In for Oli I think.

Another player that is contracted for multiple more years, like other big game performers Tippett and Rohan. So he isn't going anywhere

Goodbye squib and I dont need time to think it over, if your that ****en scared you have no chance
No need to do this every time we lose. It's very bitter. We had some poor players yes but our whole game plan broke down so if anything you start with Kennedy who was torn apart in the middle. Now we're not going to hang him are we?

Pay him out and send me the bill, worth it

Looked to have turned a corner early this year. Went backwards after his injury.

Agreed, around the time we started winning he was hitting really good form and taking shots at goal willingly and selfishly - when he's playing well and confidently, he's being selfish and not passing off, running hard and trying to take on tackles.

Unfortunately he too often reverts to having no confidence in his own attacking attributes, passes off needlessly and doesn't take the tackler on. Really, really disappointing to see him revert to that again.

I have a golden rule when it comes to recruitment and selection.

Do not consider players named after an English Prince or a Seppo actor.

The other Harry might also be the raw ingredient we boil and mash, but at least he is not frightened to put his body on the line.

When he chose to give it off to Macca on Fri night I said to my missus, "Oh FFS, he is ****ing terrified to back himself in". Not 10 secs later Carey said in commentary exactly the same thing "Some blokes want it in their hands to do something about it, some, like Harry, don't"

Papers were stamped in that very play there and then for mine...

I haven't been on the site for quite a while. Don't know why but couldn't reactivate my account.

Harry Cunningham! I looked at the 2012 posts and laughed. From the first practice match he played I picked his lack of willingness to have a go. Sat off the pack waiting for the easy handball. I was prepared to see how he progressed but I can only agree with The King. He is a speedy squib. They left him out of the finals last year so why in the hell would they include him this year. Rose is no superstar but at least he has a go. On RWO I often refer to him as bloke who always finishes the game with the cleanest shorts. Maybe they retained him because he had the odd ok game as run with player a couple of years ago.
