Player Watch #7: Zane Duursma - out for 2024, undergoing shoulder surgery

Are there any threads I can open without reading about the player leaving?

The alternative is to read the Whitlock thread and read pages of Draft coulda woulda shoulda

But Murray, aside from leaving where else on BF do you read about Magoo and Air Fryers within two pages?

Hey Hazey1977, Philips Air fryer is one of the best out there but because money is quite tight for a lot of people at the moment, just get what you can afford, but if your cashed up then the 5000 series model is very good or the Aerofry Air fryer is a beauty, in my opinion they are the top two that stand out but if you just want simple snacks then most will do the job. We've actually got a Anco 3.2 litre Air fryer that my fiancee bought a few years ago and it works great, never had a problem with it.
How does the 5000 wear the collar on its polo? I don't want anything too arrogant in the kitchen or Mrs.H's KitchenAid mixer might get upset and ask for a transfer. It's DFA this year.

Poort and the * filth are 2 peas in a pod.

• would have been in his ear the minute he got drafted. Hopefully Zane has a good 2025 and becomes invested in the group.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think Essendon are about to fall off a cliff.

The list is terrible and nearly all their young high draft picks look very underwhelming apart from Caddy.

Combine this with a proven mediocre coach with a history of developing no one, they are going no where.

If Zane wants to leave to be part of this then let him. But we play absolute hard ball with our return sort.

The insecurities of guys wanting to leave we have had for 15 years or so should be gone with LDU hopefully signing this year.

I’m not sure Zane wants to leave at all, but if he does, particularly for that shitshow, then he isn’t what we need around the place anyway.

Great, you just kissed them on the dick.

2025 premiers: *

(After several weeks of umpire assistance)

Ps- you can't fall off a cliff you didn't climb

He never said the cliff was big

It was a nmfc under bard sort of cliff

Should have drafted Watson, maybe we didn't see him ,is the only explanation I can think of.
As Denis Pagan would've darn well said, 2 missionaries can find Peter Bell in a rice paddy, but you can’t see Watson on a junior footy field.

Duursma’s ceiling is higher than Watson’s imo.
No.5 pick in the draft for a small forward, you’d want to be the best small forward in the game.
Watson might be.. someone said he had 50 shots at goal in his first year? He will get a lot of attention moving forward.. Personally I understand why we took Duurs over Watson.

The build of a premiership team for beyond the years of some of our older blokes.

I would 100% take Duurs if im looking at building prem team with LDU being 27/28 years old

LDU is 27 "next" year. (ie in 2026 ... or this pre season and the next one.)

Duurs would want to get a move on.

Yet the emphasis has always been on drafting midfielders with early picks, with the occasional key position player here and there.
Because this century the likes of Hodge, Judd, Cousins, Ablett, Mitchell, Martin, Selwood, Voss, Pendlebury and Petracca have all been crucial parts of over 15 Premiership campaigns including plenty of crucial performances in GFs. There's a few I haven't named too.

We definitely need some crafty smalls. But don’t forget this guy was electric in his draft year. We need all sorts of players and he looks like a type we don’t have. We have a plethora of medium forwards but no one really dynamic in their movement and able to mark the ball like he does - floating across the pack.

Really looking forward to seeing how he develops over the next couple of years - needs strength and fitness which he will find being in an AFL environment.

Yep

You think 17 other Clubs have spent the last 2 months not pulling apart Hawkball or wtf it’s called, if not trying to replicate it?

Absolutely they have

Shut the front door

This kid will be a gun and all the crying in here these past few pages will embarrass you all who doubted for years to come

You should all go back and delete now before it’s too late
