It's interesting how so many people had the knives out massively for Greenwood when he left, and still despise him, about how he 'shafted the club', was so greedy and so on.

Yet when Wells apparently wants to leave for an years/$$ (exactly like Greenwood), it's perfectly fine, can't begrudge a guy looking after their personal interest to "pay the bills", and so on.

Pretty strange really, would have thought it would be very similar considering the situation for both players, if anything Wells is harder to accept considering his previous injuries/salary but anyway. Each to their own I guess.

We were in the window when Levi left and now we arent.

It needs to be stated again that JB was originally for the move to the Gold Coast. To his credit, he turned his thinking around, thanks to RJ.

But what real North person ever actually wanted us to leave Melbourne?

David King and he repeated it last night on On the Coach.

The tosser was asked last night if the people who wanted North moved to the GC have been turned around by the way the clubs current administration had turned around our position and he gave a non committal answer.

He's an unrestricted free agent so even if we match the offer, he can leave and choose who he wants to play for

Yep, but it is what it is.

If done right, it could be a year earlier, but one suspects we'd need to pinch 1 or 2 from GWS during this period.

We need to do everything right. No shortcuts, no top ups, play the kids, revamped footy department, real positional coaches etc etc

To be honest im not sure how much tagging will be done vs North next year especially if Wells leaves.

And the fact that we still have some senior bodies in the mids means the kids wont be thrown to the wolves ala Melbourne a few years back.

Whether it's Wells or someone else we trade in, if none of our players are being tagged then we are in for a horid time.
Like uber said, imagine Clarke getting worn like a glove in his second year.
The kids won't be protected like we'd like because the bigger bodies in our midfield can only play two thirds of the game.
