Same, so is my 2 year old, for the life of me I'll give everything to make sure he is as passionate as I am, or he can move out......Like many others here, I am also a Troo Roo for life.
I'm not a TR4L, don't see the need to automate something I do once a year that takes me 5 minutes and I usually purchase the same day I get my paperwork. I just haven't received the card/paperwork yet. I don't want to pay less for my membership either.
Tas, I'm a bit like you in that I will always be a member (for as long as the club remains the NMFC based in North Melbourne) and I am not a TR4L member. However, after hearing that the TR4L program actually saves the Club a stack of money on printing, stationery and postage costs, I am planning on joining the TR4L program this year.
BTW, I haven't renewed yet but there is absolutely no doubt that I will. I have been a member for 30+ years now and don't intend to stop. I'm also waiting on the renewal in the mail.

Yeah, convenience.....pffft, who needs it ?
Does it really save money? I get a letter with my membership card and I purchase on the website and pay $10 more i think it is for my membership. Where would the cost saving be? They would need to mail the shit out to me anyway even if i was a TR4L.
If they had to chase me to renew I could understand there being a bigger cost factor. btw, not saying you are wrong, I just don't see where the the extra cost is.
Yeah remember reading something the other day about the TR4L program and how it saves the club a stack, the printing/chasing up of members (those who dont sign up immediately like yourself) costs the club a packet. As well as the time it takes for the letters to be enveloped and sent out.
Doesnt sound like it would take much time but ive sent out letters for my work to a couple hundred people, and the folding and enveloping takes absolutely ages.
Not o mention the human cost DP....those paper cuts can really start to take their toll after a few years hey. Some people can never look at salt or lemons the same again.
Tas if it makes you fell better you can get your membership taken out by monthly direct debit I think?
Swallow is fast but it means squat when you lack awareness, and he does. His kicking is also ordinary and that’s the last thing our midfield needs.
He'll be on the fringe but won’t secure a permanent spot unless Harro falls completely out of favour, or if one of Simmo or Rawlings gets a long-term injury.
He might get a better look in after Simmo retires so he is worth persevering with ATM.
P.S.
As mentioned already, Ross is ahead of him. From what I’ve seen of Ross, his skills ARE silk. He can spot up a leading forward like no one else on our list.
Spitz is the forgotten man of our club, but I reckon he'll surprise many in 2009.
People forget how good he was during mid-2008, in just his second year at the club.
He was getting good numbers and who can forget that goal against Melbourne.
Last year, he struggled for form early, his awareness was poor, and then he got injured just when he was starting to find touch again.
In the pre-season game against Freo in Perth last year, he struggled for three quarters, but then was outstanding in the last quarter as his touch suddenly returned, winning a string of clearances. That is the sort of form he is capable of at his best.
He's quicker than people give him credit for, because he isn't often seen breaking away from packs as he is at the bottom of them, and while his kicking could be sharpened up, his attitude is exemplary and he has a good head on his shoulders. And let's not forget the maniacal tackling.
With all the talk of young guns, etc, I reckon Swallow is one player that's not being talked up that will step up in the midfield.
I look forward to it!
