I can't see Scott dropping Swallow or Thompson, and it doesn't matter how badly they play. He put too much trust into his favorites and will just keep playing them into the ground.

If that's the case then scott should **** right off and take Thompson and swallow with him. Because all he is doing is keeping the club in no man's land while these dickeads play

Sigh.....
I said to myself "We played well but ran out of legs. The experience will be good for some of the younger players. Surely the pundits on Big Footy will be able to see the positives in that".
Obviously I was wrong.
To single out Swallow as the reason we lost today just shows the narrow-mindedness of some of the keyboard warriors that flaunt their invalid and out-dated opinions on this board.
We didn't take our chances. That's it. No player blame. No coach blame. We just didn't take our chances and that is symptomatic of a younger side.

That is a cop out.

He's not the reason we lost, but he sure as sh*t ain't the reason we won. In fact, he's also not the reason we should have won. It wasn't our young blokes that led to us not taking our chances.

We play with a spare down back......I still think we have a spot for him as a defender minding the mid playing forward. This is his last place in the team.
What's the point? May as a well blood a kid in this role. Preferably one that can kick.

He's actually reached this part of his career at a good time. It's harsh on a club stalwart, but the reality is that 2017 isn't the year we NEED Andrew Swallow's best football. We need to find the next 200 game, club captain, 3 x B&F. Not hoping for the best from the last one.

Time for the Ross Smith treatment.

To be honest folks it would have been a Blight in the clubs history to offload a captain at the end of the season. Doesn't look so bad at the end of the next season though......hindsight is a marvelous thing should have pushed Jack earlier to lead the club. Scooter, Swallow maybe another senior player and we're really loaded to go shopping......

I think you are right, but I don't think it requires the benefit of hindsight. Great servant as he has been, he has been fading before our eyes.
I thought it was fairly obvious this very scenario would occur when he was appointed skipper in 2016.

Since we won't be contending this year we might get a couple of retirements about round 15. I hope he gets to go out with grace. He deserves that much..

Good point. Rossy gave great service for over 10 years providing run and rebound off half back but he "hit the wall" so quickly it was quite a shock. He started to fumble and get caught with the ball and became a liability so Pagan dropped him and he was never to return. Captained the ressies to the flag in '96 but missed out on the big one. I fear Swallow may have " hit the wall".

Bit of respect mate. I agree with the message but the insult goes a little far.

He's not a dickhead. He tries his guts out every week and has been a great servant of the club. He's won us many games. For many years he was our only representative in Mike Sheahans top 50 ...and with good reason...A grade extractor and a tackling machine. Show some respect.
