He's just awful. Absolute liability. Hadn't noticed a lack of pace (running forwards). It's well documented he's a bit soft and finds it beneath himself to defend. I'll keep an eye out for his lack of pace though, it might distract me from his horrendous disposal.

2 things i've liked

He's been cleaned up in games, shakes it off and keeps going
Is going in with the shoulder hard. He has physicality and he's using it.

Also, is kicking goals. Reduced role my backside. We've been crying out for a goal scoring mid for a while now. One on the right, one on the left as a GOTW contender.

I'll concede - it looks like Scott has solved the Parish/Shiel midfield conundrum. Hats off.

Some great body work when over the ball too which he was potted for continuously.

Great game by Shiel. He was immense and really fired up the team with his play.
Those 2 goals steadied the game for us.

So good seeing Parish/Shiel working wonders. With the addition of Setterfield I can see Shiel getting more space to ply his trade.

For Shiel, he's added some scoring spark and works really hard over the ball - looks to be in ripping nick.

Breaking the streak of not having good 30+ year old players and on the list. He is a physical specimen that is obviously dedicated and is still going hard, I would love to see him in the colours for another 3-4 years and showing the lads that not all Essendon players need to retire falling off a cliff at 30.

It was a fair price for him, I'm still not convinced he was the right player at the right time for us though.

Yeah, I don't think we've been in the position where 1 player would make us take a huge step for a long time, we just need to keep building through the draft.
