Given the posession retention, or lack of, following his kicks.. could be a chance for Luke to re-aquaint himself with the humble handball. Ha, silly me that would mean this club could develope players.

last 5 or 10 minutes of the game in that run down the wing is the first time ive seen any explosive athleticism from him this year. not sure what to make of it.

Fact the game was long gone & would have no bearing on anything …. explains a bit

LDU is a game breaker when his on. Just needs others to help with the workload. It will click and you'll see this guy rip games apart.
Trust the process.
Is he? What evidence do we have of that? I don't know if you follow the NBA at all but there are players know as "good stats, bad team" players. There's a certain amount of stats per team that have to be distributed between some players. Luke has the physical attributes, it looks good when he's bullocking or exploding with pace at his size, the truth is he doesn't defend at all and his isn't damaging with the ball in space.

He is, the problem is:
• too often is he jogging after his player
• too often is he well held in a tag
• too often he is patchy/in out of the game

He may well be a good player, and for a stint he was very very good…. The problem is it can be off and on with him…
Think Phillips plus one other to help him get space is the answer though

Starting to question if he is going to be the superstar I initially expected him to be. He just doesn’t have enough intensity to get the absolute best out of himself.

Forever just cruising…
Thing is we really shouldn’t be surprised, he was cruising in preseason and that has continued into the season proper, very underwhelming.

But I thought he was ‘coasting’ through pre-season because he’s too good?
Yeah I think a lot of us are guilty of drinking the Kool Aid. I rationalised it by assuming the club had told him not to go too hard to manage his body, but starting to think he just wasn’t trying.

Just another one of the senior players that has played most of his career in a sub standard culture.

Knows he can get away with half arsed efforts week in week out - as long as he plays a good game in every 5 - and who is going to do anything about it?

He is guaranteed a game next week and a substantial pay rise next contract because we have to pay the salary cap to someone.

When’s he gunna be as good as someone like Rozee? Surely that’s what he needs to be.
Rozee is a top 3 player in the league in terms of intensity.

LDU would be in the top 50. I suppose it’s unfair to compare.

I am hoping that when (if) he can gain the required fitness to chase consistently he can impact games to the sand effect.

still had 25 disposals but I think he's missing someone that has equally elite attributes to him.

Teams have quickly identified that he's the main distributor after Cunners retired and our recently departed Thomas left a void.

He's getting heavily targeted and he can't handle it. If Phillips was on fire I think it would help the mix greatly.

It's so tempting to put Jy back in there but that stifles the development of our young players. It just sucks.

He's just not the type to chase like a madman because his body is not built for it.

He's the explosive type that can hurt opposition but he doesn't have the experience around him to take the heat off.

Seems like a shadow of his former self. Been flopping his arms around and playing for frees lately. I know he's getting targeted a bit more but the LDU of old would have stuck his head down and gone harder at the ball.

How is he a downhill skiier? In all the close games last year, he was the only one on the mountain.

Hes clearly broken down mentally from losing every week.
We have destroyed our only elite midfielder.

Kudos.
